Anyone see the steampunk themed "balloon" ride at Branson Landing by Belk's? It is not really a tethered hot air balloon ride, more of an elevator shaped like a balloon. Pretty funny, watching little kids tearfully beg their parents to let them ride it, lol! I think I heard someone say $15 a pop. :)
Junior, I haven't seen it finished yet, but I read somewhere it was $25/ride. I hope not!
Maybe. It is called Parrott Pete's.

Maybe. It is called Parrott Pete's.
Owned/operate by the same folks that have the zipline chairs by Famous Dave's. Price varies depending on the amount of business, time of day, etc.
It's actually called Parakeet Pete's; you can find information on tickets and stuff here:

Looks fun! Though I'm not sure just how "in the way" the structure is for views...
I... don't get it. Why do they need that huge ugly structure around it?
That's what I've been wondering; they've got a tethered balloon at Downtown Disney and it doesn't need a structure that gets in the way of people's views...
I'd had rather seen a Star Flyer that had a kick ass lighting package.
It looks like a tethered balloon, but is not. Really, I would call it a themed elevator. The balloon is made of the same stuff a canopy on the front of a business is made of. The elevator is attached at various places to the tower like structure around it. The platform is lifted up and holds in place until the ride is over. There is no hot air or gas in the balloon shaped top. Pure hokum, but, like I said, themed, pretty well. It appeared kids loved it. Me, I would not pay to go up in it.
The theme is nice, but for the price? *shrugs* I'll just take pics of it from the ground. LOL
