Talented actor, Phillip Seymour Hoffman has died. Early reports say a drug overdose in his NYC apartment. Very talented gent, sad way to go.
Couldn't tell you a movie he was in until my wife mentioned a few I have never seen. It is however unfortunate for anyone to go too soon, especially at the cause of an addiction.
From what I understand they found him dead with the needle still in his arm. Drugs are bad, y'all.

He was in Twister and the hubs says he was in Captain Phillips (I'm not sure about that one.)
Google him. You will see under Wikipedia his credits. They are impressive. Boogie Nights, The Master, the Truman Capote flick got him an Oscar.
He was great in the Truman Capote movie and just recently The Hunger Games and Catching Fire.
There were 2 others, Maximilian Schell, and Richard Bull, who played Mr. Olsen on Little House...
Had not heard about the other two deaths...sad to hear, both talented individuals.
Harold Ramis...Stripes, Ghostbusters...Stealing Home, and other films, is dead at 69. Really a good actor, good sense of humor in the comedy roles he was in, good serious actor. too.
The Dad from the Waltons died last week too I believe

Groundhog's Day is a Classic, an all time great. So much hidden meaning to that movie.
And... of course, a civics lesson:

Comedian Tim Wilson died of a heart attack at 52.
He wasn't as famous as some of the other redneck comics, but he was brilliant.
Mary grace canfield who played Ralph Monroe on Green Acres died last week

Audrey Meadows passed in 1996. It was Sheila MacRae who just passed; she played Alice Kramden from 1966-70, when it was "The Jackie Gleason Show".
loved his minor role in my favorite film MAGNOLIA... you look like... a perfect fit... of a girl in need of a tournaquet... SAVE ME... he couldn't be saved for the draw of drugs... but enjoyed him while he was here...RIP
Mickey Rooney has passed at the age of 93
Sept 23, 1920, April 6, 2014
Mickey Rooney was the original Hardy boy.
His 200-plus film credits notwithstanding, the spry, spirited Rooney, who died on Sunday, will be best remembered for playing the impetuous title character in MGM's beloved Andy Hardy movies.
Rooney, 93, is survived by his eighth wife Jan, and nine children.
True Mickey Rooney story: A few years ago, he appeared in Branson as part of the game show program at one of the theaters. He was a celebrity guest on the game show, he played for weeks at a time, maybe a few seasons. Anyway, He and his wife go into Sadie's Sideboard Restaurant, which at the time was managed by my brother. They quietly eat their dinner, nobody pays any special attention to them. At the check out counter, Mickey Rooney starts a conversation with the lady in front of him while my brother takes her money. Things turn to entertainment and movies...Rooney said "I make pictures." The lady asked who he was and did not recognize his name. Rooney asks my brother, "have you ever heard of me?" My brother says, "yeah, you're Mickey Rooney, you used to be the biggest box office draw in the world, like Tom Cruise is now." My brother tells the lady, Mr. Rooney was a personal friend of Judy Garland, too. Then my brother tells him he was great in "The Black Stallion," and how it was one of his favorite movies. Rooney, his ego stroked, pays for his dinner and happily leaves with his wife. Rooney could not stand the fact that no one recognized him, and was very satisfied with my brother's response. My brother said Rooney was a nice guy, with a great sense of humor. I personally cannot make it through "Boys Town" without crying, even today. Rooney was a ham, and had an ego, but he was a great star. REST IN PEACE, Mickey!
