How-do, we wi be there on the 24th.
Happens to be my B-day, we will be ther for opening ceremony..
when we get closer to the weekend, lets arrange meeting...
Sounds good bud. We should be there early too. I already requested Mon. off at work also so we dont have to be in a rush. :D
We may be there the weekend before. I know we'll be there sometime in April, as we will get free tickets from Tony's work.
We'll be in Branson March 15-23. Not sure what days we will be going to SDC, but probably at least 3 times that week. Do we know when Outlaw Run will be opening? I know it says "spring" but will it be open on Opening Day or later in Spring, closer to summer?
weather permitting OR will be running on day #1!! It will be opne for daily running, to make sure it is ready for the new season!
the "grand opening" of OR is 1st weekend in april.. ( I think)....
We have "tentative" plans on being in Branson and SDC on the weekend on March 23/24 and maybe stay till 25 since the 25th is our 26th anniversary.
planning for opening day, yea!!!
My wife and I are planning to do Opening Day and that weekend for our Anniversary.
How-do, we are still planning on the 24th, plan on being in the square by 9:15 or so.. Dont want to miss the opening ceremony.
Hearing all this talk is 1. Making me jealous and 2. Giving the ol ache to get to SDC...Everybody have fun opening weekend...I'll be there with you all in spirit...don't forget to post pictures :)
We can't make it until mid April. Looking forward to it!!
sanddunerider -- yes, still on for the 24th. knowing my brother, we will prob'ly be close to the 1st one in preferred parking. where shall we meet on the square, & what you look like, man?? :D
why dont we meet just east of the steam engine on the square.. it is close to the flagpole..
i will be wearing my full length duster, with my flat brimmed hat....UNLESS it is 60 degrees, then i will be there in my sleeveless denim shirt.. distinguished beard (grey)..LOL... Longer hair...
CYA then!!
My bf and I are gonna try to make it Opening Day!!
sanddune -- gotcha! sounds like you will stand out in a crowd.. LOL i have a beard also, with perscription glasses, short hair, & will be with my wife who looks Indian with short hair. Possible dirt racing shirts but we'll see.. ;)
yeah Tiff!! ;D
my wife and I will be there on the 24th (March) also. I will be wearing a Branson shirt Im sure. Short mostly gray hair. Bigger belly HAHA. Wife has dark hair, relatively short, fairly large build. I would be thrilled to meet up with you all too. See ya then.??
you bet! if your there @ opening we will be by the fire engine... CYA then.,.
Toying with the idea of making down on the first day...any special things going on that day? giveaways, commemorative items etc?
My family minus one will be there on the 16th. It'll be the four of us. If you see me out in the park, say hi. Don't be shy. Just be sure to let me know that you are from SDCfans.
Anybody else thinking about the 24th, Qwed and myself will be there with out other halves.. :) :)
I aslo have a buddy coming with us, he is new to SDC and purchased his 1st season pass this winter :o :o :o
busymom4kc will be there! We will not be because that is scrapbooking weekend and I won't be done with that until after 2 on Sunday.
Well Sand---runner is almost right. My other half will definitely be with me. I think "missing the green trams" will be there that weekend also.
What do ya say? Lets all meet up at SDC on March 23 or 24 !!!! Wouldnt that be a blast? All of us there on the same day.
sorry Qwed, that was a typo!!.
I wrote "with out other halves".....AND was supposed to be "with our other halves"......
LMAO... 1 letter!! what a difference it makes!! cya then
Count me in yall! I will have my husband and child with me.
Change of plans: I won't be there opening day :-(

Sorry, Tiff. I'm sure you'll be there soon enough, you already know what a great time you will have!
qwed94 -- we's still on for the 24th, calling motel reservations tom. see ya all at the fire engine!! 8)
We'll be there tomorrow (Mar 16). Hoping that the warmth there today will stick around a bit!
It will be me hubs and 2 kids. The youngest can now ride powderkeg for the first time, so I am thinking we will be over that way quite a bit, unless he decides that he liked TNT better! Excited to get there!
Looks like the weather is going to try to be nasty this weekend.. OK, who will be there??
Myself, with my wife and 2 newbies...
Will be by the east side steam engine on Main square around 9 - 9:15, will watch opening ceremony from there...
yes we will be there no matter the weather.. I want to get the event credit on my season pass, and I want to see the ceremony.. from there? we will see..
CYA then
We are still planning on being there both days this weekend (23&24 March) regardless of weather.
"Green Trams" can not make it now, so Saturday Kathy & I will sleep in a bit, then head to the Branson area (and finally SDC).
Original plans was leaving home at 4 AM. Now we will likely sleep till 6 or 7 then hit the road.
We should be in SDC by Noon on Saturday. If it is raining good by then. It will still be OK. We will have fun even in the rain. Shoot, look at it like this. As long as it is not lightening, OR will likely still run. The park will be less crowded if it is raining. Maybe I can ride it Saturday.
we're out.... not only because of the weather, but a medical issue has come back to haunt me.. have fun ya all! my brother will still be there, i'll try to see if he'll stop by & say hi to ya all. ;)
"How-Do" Sorry to hear about your medical issue. My/our prayers be with you. Stay home and get well. We will hopefully have other weekends to meet. Take care of yourself.
"Sand-Dune" you still on? I think we are still going. We are debating as to what car to drive. Coming in from St Louis. Just calling for lots of rain here and some snow in Branson. I want to drive the new car, its much cheaper on gas. However the Jeep is AWD, much better in snow (and even rain really). Much more SDC money will go in the gas tank of the Jeep though. We are going to see what things look like Saturday morning before we leave, and decide then.
Sanddune---you gonna be in Branson Saturday too? Or just Sunday? We are going to be in Branson probably around noon on Saturday. We are going to stop at Camping World on the way in probably. We need a few goodies for the camper.
Qwed, yes i will be there sunday morning......
should get to branson about 1 sat afternoon, catch a show, supper and another show, then will be hanging out at Paige's place for a while (yes she is still closed, but we will be in the lobby relaxing)..
like you I am trying to decide which vehicle to drive... the 1/2 2wd suburban? or the 3/4 ton 454 4x4 suburban?... hate to drive the big block, But if it looks bad........................
We will be there regardless the weather, birthday weekend for me, the city is open, wife and friends want to ride OR.. YEP!! we will be there as planned. 9 or so at the fire engine..
CYA!!
Thanks qwed94, will do. :)
ya all be careful drivin' around down there.
How-do, you get feeling better... maybe we will see you next time
thanks sanddune, will do. ;)
Hows about an SDC FANS meet up on June 8 and June 9? June 9 is my birthday. Would absolutely love to spend it at SDC with as many SDC FANS members as can make it.
Right now i am scheduled for memorial weekend, and then 4 weeks later on June 22-23...
If there is enough response to a "SDCFan Gathering". I would make a attempt at a special trip down on the 8-9... ;D ;D
I would be interested. Let's see what kind of response you get.
That sounds great to me! Count me in for the 9th, tentative like. Are we all wearing matching SDCfans shirts much like a family reunion?
I might be able to make June 9th. Should be a tidbit less crowded since that's a Sunday.
OK. I just checked. June 8/9 weekend is NOT a BAF day. That BAF ends on June 7. Then in July starts the $20 tickets. So we still have time. If you all want to have a nice meetup on a BAF day just chime in. I can always go camping on my birthday.
I think we have BAF in May and Aug. If you all want to go in May (not Mem Weekend) that will be OK too. Please everyone chime in. Lets get a meetup day planned.
Green Trams. I will keep you up on any BAF days that we go. My BAFs are still yours when time allows.
BTW we still will likely be there on June 8/9. We can still probably meetup. It just wont be a BAF day.
Bummer! :( We are going to Colorado for a week with my parents, starting on the 3rd.
qwed- Thanks. We appriciate it! :) I will save for a special SDCFans meetup day if it pans out. :) :) :)
We should be there on May 17th - 18th which is the weekend after Mothers Day and the weekend before the Memorial day weekend.
Our next visit will be sunday april 14th..
:( Ours was moved to first weekend in May.
I will be going down next sunday, (14th)..Maybe this time NO SNOW!??, warmer temps, although extended forecast is calling for rain..... long ways of though...
who else?
Last Sat of the month I'll be there
May 5 and June 15/16 will be our next visits to SDC. (Good Lord willin & the cricks dont rize). We plan on being in Branson on May 4, but mainly to see Randy and his family show at the Hamner-Barber Theatre at 2 PM. Then we will either go to SDC for Echo Hollow, or Presleys. (Since I have passes for Presleys). This year it is all about getting away as often as possible and saving as much money as we can.
CAN ANYONE MEETUP ON MAY 5 ????? "GREEN TRAMS"? (BAF tickets that day!!!). SAND DUNE? HOW-DO? SWOOSH? TIFFANY? ANYBODY-EVERYBODY? How about it. Will May 5 work? (Sunday).
How about planning on June 15 (Saturday). Not a BAF day! But a meetup with everyone would be great.
-----My original plan was June 8/9. That has been changed due to work. I will be on Vac June17-20 so a trip to Branson June 15/16/17 is inevitible. (Again if the Lord is willin).
Can we plan on June 15 or 16 for a meetup? I mean EVERYBODY!!!! Lets plan on June 15/16. Thanks from TIM
qwed, may 5th! you bet,, we are scheduled to be there...
qwed. we will be @ homestay that weekend.
Park opens @ 10.00, we will be there 9:30 or so......
June 15/16, would be tough for me, we are scheduled to be there the following weekend,,, IF we had enough people "joining" in.... I could reschedule... ???
qwed, I will let you know closer to time. I might have to work that day. But if I dont I imagine you can count me in!! :)
Looks like a few of us will be at the city the 1st weekend in May,
Myself,
Qwed,
Dollarcityboy,
Gilligan..
Who else?
Park opens @ 10, hoping to meet everybody on Sunday the 5th on the square in the Gazebo around 9:30 to 9:45....
WHO'S IN!!!!?????.
I can NOT wait til the day I get to post a date :-\
I'll talk to my friend who also has a season pass and see if she'd be up to going that day!
As of today, we are still planning to be there-
How about this weekend? sunday the 14th? anybody? i will be in the gazebo area around 9:30 or so.
April 27th
I did get May 6 off. Unless the bottom falls out, I/we will be there on May 5.
Still havent made reservations. We usually stay at Gretna. But Sanddune has me really wanting to try out Paige. Sanddune, the price you told me in the PM--is that what I would pay also, or just a special for you?
I was considering Amazinn Inn, because the deal the CLAIM on the paper that was given with our SDC passes. However I heard rumors that they dont hold up to that claim.
Anyway. May 5 looks like a go.
^If you are going on the 5th, you might as well do the ACE event that weekend and get in on the ERT on Outlaw Run.
FYI... Paiges/Homestay price is 40.00 for ALL SDCFANS... Give her a call!
I called Angel Inn, Amazinn Both gave me a price of 49.99 per nite WITH SDC pass discount.. not much of a deal..!!
Well you are close. Angel is $41.99 a night. For 2 nights (including tax) it is a grand total of $93.72 (That is for a "VALUE" room) at Angel Inn with the Season Pass discount. Without SDC pass at Angel it is $120.XX (with tax) for 2 nights. A value room is either 2 queens or 1 king upstairs where there is no elevator. I just called them today. My old Fav Gretna Inn just raised prices from $37.99 to $46.99 (not including tax) - per website/no call made.
---I ran out of time to call Paige today. I will likely call her tomorrow.
SWOOSH-------Please tell me more about the ACE (american coaster enthusiasts). How can I get involved? Is that going on May 5 (Thats what I understood by your post). Call me stupid here but what is the "ERT on OUTLAW RUN"? As you mentioned.
I can usually ride coasters till chickens grow lips, but I dont like making my sweet wife just sit there and wait forever either. That is why I have missed out on so many rides, because LONG WAIT TIMES. (I assume the ACE folks will get privy line advantages though).
Hubs and I will be at Homestay on May 2-13....hope to see some SDCers in ther breakfast room?
cheese! you know i will see ya!
And I am hoping you guys come out to the park for ceremony on sunday tthe 5th...Sounds like there will be at least 5 or 6 of us withour families out there that morning...
CYA in 3 weeks.!!!

ERT = Exclusive Ride Time (as in the ride is only open to ACE and not the General Public)
Sorry folks, cant make it. Didnt buy passes this year, plus, got a big dirt track race that weekend in Wheatland Mo.
Sanddune.....we will be goimg to BakersCreek for the spring festival on Sunday and maybe Monday too.
We're still shooting for that weekend, but I'm not sure which day we'll be at park.
still planning on may 4 & 5. Only staying Sat. night. Even though I am off Monday night. We have to be home Sunday night. We plan on being in Branson for Randys show at 2 on Saturday. Probably see Presleys later.
Sunday we will probably hit SDC. See Mean Murphy. Eat -- go home.
We'll be at the city for the 1st time this year on May 4th. Bringing tons of people with us this time. Not sure it's a great idea. lol! I hate taking large groups to SDC. Someone always gets their feelings hurt because they are left out and kids fight. That's ok. It will be a good day if for no other reason than it is a city day!

Well How-Do. I wish you the best of luck at Lucas Oil Speedway that weekend. And lots of prayers for your safety (and your crew). Heck all the attendance for that matter.
What do you drive? Sprint or Midget. I never had the jack to make it that for. I had a street stock for a while. My cousin drove much better than me. He is driving Late Models now. Mostly at Montgomery County.
Dont feel bad about missing SDC. It looks like I wont be at SDC either that weekend. Keep us informed with your race schedule. Even though I sorta broke away from racing, and big into camping. I still absolutely enjoy a night at the dirt tracks. Maybe we can meet at the track somewhere.
qwed94 -- i dont race, but my father & i do alot of video work for the KC area & post them on certain websites. we go in the pits & do driver interviews & put 2-3 GoPro cameras on cars. very exciting. we do have a youtube channel if ya ever wanna check it out.
i dont mind missing SDC, but i will miss having a chance to meet up with ya all. my last 2-3 trips to The City havent been good, but my brother does have the BAF tickets, we will get there sometime this year i hope.
We still plan to be there; that is, unless it snows - which it's doing in Illinois at this moment!! >:(
How Do....my husband used to race Street Stocks, Super Stocks and IMCA/Wissota Modifieds here in Northern WI. This season the start will be late....we still have 1 foot of snow on the ground and been having a blizzard on and off since yesterday. We deon't go to the races much anymore only invitationals as hubs can't sit in the bleachers anymore due to severe back and hip pain. Working too many years on concrete and rolling over Stock cars do a body bad. Miss watching dirt racing a lot.
Thank You HOW-DO. And CHEESE--yes dirt racin is almost an addiction. I miss them too.
As far as May4/5 at SDC is concerned. I just dont know. Things are going from bad to worse here. First we ended up with a surprise family matter on the 5th. Still planned on Branson for the 4th. Now a check engine light came on in the Jeep. Inspection time is May. It is a TPS code and 3 vacuum leaks. (EVAP is not generally a problem a reset and drive is usually a good inspection). The TPS can be costly. I will keep you all posted as whether or not we will even be in Branson. Maybe if Randy has room we can go.
Anybody this weekend? 27 & 28th.
Sounds like Mhguy and myself will be there sunday the 28th.... Park opens @ 10.. I will be on the east side of the steam fire engine, on the square around 9:45, maybe a little earlier.... join us!
I will be ;D Of course the ONLY days I'm not, is Mon & Tue ;)
I plan to be at SDC on Sunday! We are getting to Branson Saturday and coming home Monday. If I get there in time, which I think we will, I'll meet you guys there. It will be cool meeting other people on the board.
We are changing our trip to Sunday because Saturday's weather is supposed to be awful. Anyone else going to be there for the last day of World Fest?
I'm hoping to be there Sunday.
If the weather forecast is correct, we will cancel and save our days for another weekend. I don't want to walk around in the rain, and neither of us look forward to trailering our boat in the rain on a weekend.
I'd normally wait too, but we have passes for some friends that are only good this weekend. We also can't go again until June, so we need to get our season pass free passes used.
Should be there everyday from May 10-14... Can't wait or some Bluegrass and BBQ!
We have to get our boat in storage before the best spots are taken, so we'll def be there sometime in May. Bluegrass and BBQ is good, but I sure liked WorldFest last year (1st time there). The weekend weather just keeps looking worse! :(
well darnit! It looks like IM OUT for this weekend (May 4/5). I waited till the very last second to announce this, but I (we) cant go. I took the Jeep in last Thurs. for an inspection. The CEL was on, so I knew he would have to work on it. Anyway, 2 sensors, 1 tank of gas, and 5 working days later. It still will not reset. We do know that there is a bad wire somewhere, but where. The moniters will not set after the code clear. We are $200 into this and no farther along than we were.
Now I had a blowout in the car yesterday. (Tire warranty 12000 miles). Car has 12400 miles. Dealer will prorate. New tire $120 prorate price ???...
If thats not enough. We are getting slow now. I have lost 25 hours of work in the last 3 work days. We are thinking we will be this slow till about Oct. This has happened before though. Last time 6 people got fired. 10 people laid off (me included) and the rest worked 15-25 hours a week. That was 1 year after I bought the big camper (and incidently lost it). Wanna guess how old my new car is? YUP 9 months. I didnt know Jesus back then like I do now though. I know all things will work out, but your prayers will be heartfelt.
Thanks from TIM
Sorry to hear this Tim.. I know any trip to SDC is important to us all. Dang vehicles!! >:(
Qwed, sorry to hear about the run of bad luck.! but it does seem to happen that way! good luck on the job situation... I will see u done there sometime..

I'm hoping to be there Sunday.
Although Diana and Tony will be unable to make it Sunday we will be - "we" are her parents Charles and Lana. We'll be there with our son-in-law Daniel, grandson Ethan aka Sonic (as in hedgehog lol) and Daniel's mother and my very good friend Kathy. Looking forward to a fantastic time.
Due to an unforeseen medical emergency I will be unable to ride anything but the Train, the Shoot Out and maybe the Big Swings for the next year. That means no Outlaw Run for me until 2014. :'( However, that does not diminish the fact that we will be visiting SDC on a very regular basis. Just think of all of the shows I'll be able to take in without having to hurry to try and catch the possibility of a shorter line at Fire In The Hole. lol
Also, will attend many more classes at the Midwest Living Culinary and Craft School. I have taken them in the past. Not only do you get to watch the dishes being made, you get to TASTE each dish. Yummy. Saturday, May 4th - Viva Italia Sunday, May 5th - All about eggs. Wanted to attend the Italian class but won't be able to, so eggs it is! :)
Here is the link to the spring calendar: http://www.silverdollarcity.com/~/media/ParkContent/SDC_COM/Documents/SDC/CCS/CCS%20Calendar.ashx
For anyone new to the forum: If you are looking for an affordable, clean, very nice place to stay we recommend the HomeStay Inn 1.800.728.2664 Paige and her staff are courteous and willing to help make your stay in Branson the very best. The even offer an SDCfans.com rate. You won't find a better rate or place to stay. IMHO The beds are extremely comfy! 8)
Have a fabulous 2013 everyone! Never take for granted the blessing we have in SDC - a clean, family friendly place that really is concerned what their visitors want and what we think. ;D
Sounds like there will still be several of us there on sunday the 5th.. I would love to meet each and every one of you...
I will be on the east side of the Steam fire engine on the main square at or real close to 9:30.. will be there until opening ceremony.
Hope to see most you then...
DH and I will most likely be there on Sunday, May 5th also! We'll make a quick jaunt down after church that morning. We realized we need to get our festival credit for our ornaments. Sad that I won't get to meet any of you that morning.
Well we have no chance of any ornament now. :( Thats OK though. With the rain and nasty cold I can accept no ornament. Of course the weather has no influence on us and BRANSON. We will go to Branson each and every chance we get. It is a shame that I am off for at least 4 days now, and cant make it to Branson. I am taking the car in Monday for its 3 month "free" oil change and a new tire to replace the blowout. We did get the Jeep back from the shop, but it did not pass emissions. I have till end of June to get it to pass. (or should I say) to find out what is wrong. The computer is glitching out.
Oh well. We want to head that way over Mem Weekend, but if work stays flat. We will be staying home. We had another 2 trips planned for June 8 and June 16. Well hopefully work will be good by then. Usually the slow times last 4-10 weeks. If they last 10 weeks or so. Then we might not be at Branson anymore in 2013. (Im sorry to sound that way, but 10 weeks with little or no pay will put me behind till tax time 2014, and will likely be forced to let car go back). Which would be sweet, to have only one car then, and that one be unlicensed because it cant pass emissions. Gotta love these silly activists groups that push petty laws
If you don't meet the requirement for a "free" ornament, you can still buy it, along with previous years available, for $10~
I'm not sure if I'll make it on Sunday. The weather for Sunday is still looking kinda ucky in the forecast, and with my allergy, cold rain is my enemy.
SDC could have up to 2 inches of snow tomorrow morning Not only has it snowed in May now, but we are getting two nights of it.

Yes it is definitely strange indeed. Thank God for "global warming" HUH?
On a positive note. I cant go this weekend afterall, so I dont feel as bad now that Im stuck at home. :o OH Im sorry
No really we have recieved snow in May before but its been a while. We had 2 May snows in STL when I still worked "in downtown" at the bank. I have been working at my present job since 1997. So it was before 1997 when we had May snows.
NOt sure about the global warming thing!!/./???
pulling outoif here in a little bit,,, is 37 degrees and rainy!! chance of snow....
ot the heavy coat loaded!...
Anxiuos to meet some new people in the morning,,,, CYA,,
DRIVE SAFE!!!..
Well... global warming is what causes the changes in weather patterns. The overall temperature of earth goes up, that creates disturbances, and eventually leads to an ice age.
But yeah, I'm definitely not gonna be there tomorrow. There's no way I can do the park in this weather, and I have some additional health issues that have come up that would make it even more unbearable.
I sure do wish I was in Branson. Even in cold rainy ick. It has been cold ick here.
On a good note. The ECM in the Jeep is (yes I said it is) indeed working correctly. ;D
Now its just a matter of a code clear, a few start cycles, a drive or 2. IT SHOULD!!!! Pass right thru emissions then. WHEW!!! A big favor from our wonderful Lord. Now I need 1 more big favor and we will be in the clear (with the Jeep).
1 ginormous favor in bringing work back in to my place, and the World will be in harmony.
Qwed, I really hope it all works out for you! I think most of us have been down that road a few times. It always seems like when something goes wrong, something else goes wrong, and then, something else...

We used block ice to keep the fish we caught good on our day long expeditions on the Mississippi. We used block ice cause it lasted longer than the cubed ice that's typical at the store.
The Earth is no different, Whatever caused the last Ice Age put the Earth in a deep freeze, ask the Mammoths they are finding in Siberia that was froze solid very quickly due the stuff they find in their digestive tract suggests. As this event changed the climate, it's been a state of melt and gradual warming ever since. The block of ice has been getting smaller and as it gets smaller it melts faster. It's a process that's been going on for some time. C
heck out this over the recent discovery of Heracleion.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/29/heracleion-photos-lost-egyptian-city_n_3178208.html
It is further proof the sea levels have been rising since way before our carbon emissions stuff. why should we fear it? It's something that's going to happen with or without us. I'd like to think we will be able to adapt. Think of the species of plants that's seeds have been in a deep freeze for ions that may hold great promise like plants from other areas like the rain forest. I wonder what was the excuse for the snow on April 30 in 1903 was.
Well I think I mentioned "global warming" first on this post. Basically as a joke. But I do remember an explanation by one of our local TV weathergirls that (in a nutshell) global warming does indeed change weather patterns. Basically it is making most of the globe warmer, however, it does create frontal systems that are much stronger, and last much longer. I dont remember any of the details really, but she did say when it is over there is likely to be another ice age. (As a few have mentioned here).
Just remember this though. Several books in the Bible (mainly Revelations, Daniel, and the gospels), promises us that Jesus will return and snatch his children away, then those behind will live thru (or die thru) a nasty wrath. Then World War III (Armeggedan). Then he will rebuild the Earth (by rebuild I mean refurbish the existing-not total anihelation and start over) so this global warming isnt going to desroy the planet. But it certainly might destroy our "fun" plans HUH?
And Thank You Gilligan and How-Do, for the words of encouragement. I definitely know that Gods will is better than my plans. At least in the end it will be. Things will work out very soon Im sure. Im not that bad yet anyway. I have done this before and I know how to conserve and save. It means lots of home time, and home cooking. All the handyman jobs I can find. No wasted trips anywhere. Maybe not renewing the phone card, ETC. I am positive. Things are exactly as the Master has planned.

Had my heater core go out in Jan. Talk about pain. I pine for the days of raising a Hood and a 350 looked at me with plenty of room around it ;D

At the park right now and it's a beautiful day!
i know its a long way off, but my brother is getting married July 21st -- we will be at the park on Monday July 22nd. they will be open till 10pm & we'll probably go take a nap around 2pm, then go back around 5-6pm until 10pm! ;D

Blah, blah. The weather threat was en route both ways -- and it turns out we made the correct decision... we'll be there Wednesday and you can see us then. :P
we'll be there next weekend May 31st - June 2nd. I'll be there wearing the black cowboy hat in my avatar. If you see me introduce yourself
Howdy folks, so I have been severly lacking in posting ANYTHING. I will be there the 4th of June!!!

YUCK. That is on a Tuesday. SDC is 3 hours away. I would have to leave home by 6 AM then leave SDC by noon at latest to be at work on time. Then work till 2 AM. (HMMM up from 6AM Tues till 2AM Wed. Sounds good to me) Darnit I wish I could just sneak down anytime.
If I cant get my stupid Jeep to pass emissions. I wont be going anywhere even to work with expired plates. I hate to sell the thing. It is in great shape and 120,000 miles. If I traded it I would get enough to buy "maybe" a 300,000 mile Ford Taurus or similar. PHOOOEY. I'll take my chances with a traffic ticket.
I would too QWED. Hehe. My parentals are coming as well. My step mamsy has NEVER BEEN!!! We are hoping the weekday and it being non festival works in our favor crowd wise.
Yeah it will. Besides that, you live right there fairly close. I live just a few miles from SFSL. I used to buy passes there and sneak in, ride the coasters, then go to work. Actually this is the first year I have NOT had a pass to SFSL. We had enough money for passes to one park this year, and DW doesnt really like SFSL (she dont do rides at all). We both just love SDC, so SDC gets our money this year.
I will be in SDC today and possibly for a while on Sunday.Branson cammo hat and bright orange shirt. See ya there
will be @ homestay sat / sun nite,(22,23)
SDC on sunday morning..
Anyone else going to be in town?
As far as I know, I'll be there Friday!!!!!
Will be on park Friday and sat this week. Have not been in 6 weeks so I am having a little withdrawal.
Have a good time, park looks about the same LOL.. i was there sunday..
Looks like We r coming back down next weekend, have some unexpected time off! no better way to use it!!
My wife and I will be at the City this Sat after enjoying Paige's hospitality Friday night. I'll have on my signature slouch hat. We plan to hit the saloon--I've never seen "Mean Murphy."
hane a great visit palallin, and dont wory about mean murphy!!!,, he aint that mean.
Tell Paige howdy from me.... CYA
Looks like I'll finally be heading to the city this weekend for the first time this year. Hopefully I can get on OR a few times, it's been driving me nuts reading all the reactions from people all around the world and not having a chance to see it for myself.
Shave, good for you.
Glad you are getting to take a break in your busy schedule!
Watch out for that first drop :o

OKIE.! LOL.. i sleep in shifts. About 2 1/2 hours or so at a time. When I wake up I make a trip around the house and check things over.
If it is late (4:22am) for instance. I make my coffee for the day and check puter..
Usually up for theday by 5am anyway..
yea I know, NUTS!!! welcome to my world :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

OK we will be in Branson August 10. It looks like Sanddune and OKIE will be also. Anyone else? I should have (1) - one - BAF available that day if anyone needs it.
If anyone wants to try to meet up (since I have never met anyone here personally) I will be at Homestay and just PM me. I will deliver my cell # to you. Sanddune & I tried to meetup earlier this year but luck just didnt play out. Maybe we can this time Sanddune.
We will actually be there on Friday, going to see Comeday Jamboree, Grand Jubille AND the Radio show @ 10:30pm, all at the Grand Country complex..
Sat the 10th is the wifes B-day, so not sure of Sat "plans", I know Haygoods in the evening, and watch the car cruise at midnite..
Sun go to the city!,
Home on Monday..
We will be in room 201, I am an early riser, usually outside drinking coffee by 6 or so.. Lets get together.
CYA all on the 10th
Well we wont be able to leave the house till early Sat morning. Probably 4 or 5. That will put us at Homestay 7-9 AM. Unfortunetely my Son just started a new job and gets no vacation days yet. Saturday will be a very long wait in the OR line at SDC. We will certainly be outside for the car cruise though. The fbody clubs that we are in will be participating in that cruise this year too. So we know some of the people in the cruise. (Well at least they say they will be there). I hope we can get our Trans Ams running by next years show. Well I sold mine, but he has 2 and I will likely buy his green one when he gets his black one running.
Anyway, I forgot to ask Paige what room I will be in, but (SANDDUNE) I still have your cell so I will give you a ring. You still have mine? PM me, I will re submit it to you.
We weill be at SDC August 9 - 11. the 9th is my birthday.
Duelist, We will be there on Friday the 9th. Shall we try to meet up again?
Sounds great! we should be there by noon on the 9th. I'll have an "I'm Your Huckleberry" Doc Holliday shirt on. Want to try to meet at Cowboy Jepps about 1pm?
duelist, where r u staying.. that is at least 4 groups of us going to be in town, we need to all get together..
We've been staying at the Old Southern Inn since it opened in 1991. Joe and Carol that run it are good friends of ours. It is located about a mile past the SDC campground headed toward Table Rock Lake. I'd definitely like to get together with you and others on this site. Are you going to be at the City on the 9th?
duelist, wow ! over 20 years at 1 location, that's great..
We probably wont be at the city until sunday morning, will be there for opening ceremonies for sure.
something to think about, if you like old cars and hot rods, (and who doesn't), you could join us at homestay for the midnite car cruise on sat nite. We will be there for sure.. you would need to be at motel by 11 or shortly before, they close down the street at "11" in front of homestay and the "cruise" right by..!
Saturday, July 20th is my 26th Birthday!
I will be celebrating it at SDC with my Wife and family!
We are staying at HomeStay Sat & Sunday nights.
Dollar, Happy birthday, we will be there also sat and sunday nites. going to the city sunday..
will catch up with ya at the motel.. I will be in room 201, we wont be there until 2 or so in the afternoon.
Dollar City Boy, you're still a pup. i didn't even start falling apart til 27
My brother is getting married this Sun., my wife & i will in Branson West that same night & plan on meeting my brother the next day, early morning, for a fun filled day at SDC on Mon.
I did get my dads camera, so, we will have moving video!! I cant wait! We will try to be good ol' folks on our video.... :D
Looks like our whole family is going to be at the City this Friday afternoon and evening and all day Saturday.
My lovely wife has a Drs appt in Springfield Friday morning, so we're going to head down to the City after lunch.
If I lived a little closer, I would try to come down, but I'll have to settle for waiting a couple more weeks
Due to money problems I have to cancel my vacation this year. I will not be there August 8th and 9th as I had planned. :( :'(
Okie, sorry to hear that, we will miss you next weekend.... cya next time around
I am seriously bummed about it. Maybe in October :'(
Dawg gone it OKIE---I sure am sorry to hear that. I certainly understand though. I have had my share of problems this year too. My year is turning around though. I sure hope yours does too.
Ok guys and gals, we are on the countdown for the weekend of the 10th! Who is going to be @ Homestay and who is going to be in town staying elsewhere? What days are you going to the city...
I know we will be there for sure sunday morning for opening ceremonies...
Lets see if we cant get all together for a SDCfans meet and greet!!
also remember that this weekend is the car cruise weekend also, we can watch from the Homestay parking lot..

Sanddune. I will be in room 112 at Homestay this weekend. We should be arriving quite late Friday (like near midnite). We will not be at SDC on Sunday though. We need to be back home somewhere close to 3PM. (Sunday). We will have our Son. He hasnt been with us on a trip for many years, This is the only weekend we had all our moons aligned. We will certainly be watching the car cruise from Homestay. We will just have to fight the crowds at SDC on Saturday. (Its all good though).
Duelist. We will be at SDC on Saturday. Check your PMs
qwed, I will be in 201.. will also be out front watching cars.. wifes b-day is sat, so we will be having cake in breakfast room @ homestay around 10 or so, stop in.. I will be wearing my sleeveless denim shirt.. I am not hard to find.. ask Paige. LOL...
Maybe we can get duelist to join us.
WHO ELSE?
What about "green Trams"? I think they live fairly close. What do ya say Trams? You and hubby think you can join us at Homestay for the cruise Sat. nite? BTW I will have only one (1) BAF up for grabs Saturday.
Sand dune, check your PMs please.

I agree completely. We have "PLANS" to be at Homestay Fri, Sat, Sun nites over Labor Day. I wont carve that in stone yet though, but it looks likely right now.
We will also be @ homestay Labor day weekend, probably sat-sun nite.. :)
were all checked in, unpacked, got my tickets picked for the weekend.. relax for an hour or so, then off to dinner
Have fun y'all. Sorry I couldn't be there.
OKIE-we sure do miss you. We certainly understand though. I hope things start getting better for you real soon.
Was at SDC Saturday (8/10). Met up with Duelist and his family. We all rode the train together.
I "FINALLY" rode OUTLAW RUN --- WEEEE HAAAAAA. You all are positively right. There are no english words (or maybe any words in any language) that can truly describe it. For those interested. I am about 5-10 and weigh about 240, with a 38-40" waist. I fit in the seat easily. I wiated about 45 minutes to get on.
I met up with Sanddune last night. He found the attendance for SDC on Sat (8/10) for me. I will let him give the final numbers though.
Really enjoyed finally meeting Sanddune, Duelist, and Eagle 1 (Paige at Homestay).
Homestay is awesome. Anyone who hasnt visited Homestay, needs to. Paige is a fantastic host.
Cant wait to do it again.
qwed, it was great meeting you. hopefully next time I can actually spend more time, but with car show and helping paige with parking lot security, I was a little busy..
headed out to the city shortly, to meet up with duelist....
should be a GREAT day at the city...
Sorry I missed everyone, didn't make it up to the square until about 10:30...
happy to hear ya all got to meet up, & qwed94 got to ride OR!! :D
How-Do. YEEE HOOOO YUP I did ride OR ! I have been waiting since March. Not only that but I got to ride it the first time with my Son.
1-The first time I rode "The Screamin Eagle" was with my Dad back in its first year.
2-Son & I rode "Batman" together for the first time
3-Son & I rode "The Boss" together for the first time.
4-Son & I rode "Mr. Freeze" together for the first time
5-Son & I rode "Superman" together for the first time
6-Son & I rode "Evil Knevil" together for the first time
______________________________________________
7-Dad & I rode FITH together for the first time
8-Son & I rode TNT together for the first time
9-Son & I rode "Buzzsaw Falls" together for the first time
10-Son & I rode "Powder Keg" together for the first time
11-Son * I rode "Wildfire" together for the first time
So the two of us riding "OR" together for the first time is real important to me.
OH YEAH-----Sanddune !! Think nothing of it. I understood what all you was doing, afterall I was watching from the balcony above. You were indeed very busy.
You will certainly be at Paiges place again. This was the first of (what I suspect) will be many stays for us at Homestay. Im fairly certain we will get the opportunity to spend lots of time together in the future. Especially now that I know who you are. I can likely pick you out in a crowd. We will do things together I have no doubts.
Duelist----We all had a blast with your family. Maybe we can plan a trip together also. We will stay with Paige during cooler weather, but we will likely take the camper out in the summer. We can camp at the Wilderness, you will be right close at your place.
HOW-DO !! We need to meet up with you now. We tried in March it just didnt work out, remember? You too "GREEN TRAMS"
Heck Im ready to meet everyone. "SWOOSH" Id love to hear some of your wisdom. "JUNIOR" Id love to learn some of your history. I think we should try to plan an entire SDC FANS "reunion Anybody up for that?
Hey cheesehead,!! , when is your next trip scheduled...?
Trying to get doctors appts. squared away. Might get to Branson around Sept 16 or 17 through maybe 28 or so. I won a prize from last years Branson Centennial contest and have to coordinate 2 nights stay at the Branson Hilton Promenade at The Landing and a stay at Homestay after that, also won show and attraction tickets for 4 people. My sister and hubs are planning to meet us in Branson too.Ought to be a fun visit if I can get everything planned with my sister.
It was a great pleasure meeting Qwed and Sanddunerider and their families! Always fun to hang around with those with the same obsessions as yourself! ;D
Sanddune....we are arriving at Homestay late on Sept.19 and going home Sept.30. Going to use the free Hilton days later this year or early next Spring.
we will miss by 1 day. :(. current plans are to arrive sat the 31s)t...
something may come up and we will be there on Friday. (but it would be a last minute thing)..
Have a safe drive, and a great visit...
I am writing from Homestay right now. I will be there today. Wearing a "Bass your life on Christ" shirt and black jean shorts. If any of y'all are there and recognize me, feel free to walk up and introduce yerself.
Looks like we will be @ HS ( HomeStay).... LOL.... on sat afternoon, will be at the city for opening ceremonies.. I will be hanging out between the "fire truck" and the Gazebo.. will have on my big brimmed hat and sleeveless shirt... CYA then.,..!
Sanddune-When you gonna be there in OCT? Do you know yet?
We had planned on being at the Musicland Kampground (in our camper) over Labor Day Weekend. However, we now have a bad wheel bearing on the Jeep. Ken & I (my son) tried to replace it Saturday. Literally threw the shaft of the armature out of the casing of my Impact Wrench--still did not loosen up the nut holding on the hub assy. So I will take it to his garage the first Friday in Sept. At least he can pour the heat to it up in the air, and Im sure it will loosen off fine then.
With this "MIS"adventure now. We have decided to just go campin over Labor Day at our Fav CG about 45 min from home. (The bearing is not that too awful bad yet-but why chance a 500+mile trip)
So now it looks like we are setting our sights to OCT. and of course Homestay. SOOOOO Sandune-you gonna be there in Oct? When? We can try to plan that weekend too.
Qwed..... Have a good time camping, I used to camp in my Class A, All summer long..loved it....good times..
Schedule?
sept 28---- Harvest festival Homestay
Oct - 13---- Harvest festival Homestay
Nov 3 OTC -- Homestay
Dec 1 OTC Homestay
Dec 30 OTC? last day of season.. Time share
These are schedule trips, we make make other quickie trips...... (maybe)
We are coming down for the holiday weekend and forgot it was the gospel music festival. Oh we'll no good shows to see for us. Hopefully the rides will be uncrowned on Sunday since all the gospel music fans will be concentrating on the music. Is that to much to hope for. ???
Nope!! keep hoping, very well could happen that way.... ( I am hoping for just that)
Rides were not crowded at all Sunday or Monday.I went there wanting to see some gospel shows but the lines to them were insane.
Sanddune....see ya Sept. 28 weekend. :)
cheese, I thought you were leaving Friday..???? decide to stay a little longer?? we will be there midafternoon sat...
SOO?? who will be at the city this sunday! sept 1st? We will be between the fire engine and the gazebo for opening ceremony,,
We will be there Waiting for the rope drop and OUTLAW MIGHT RUN ;D Also cannot wait for my fix of Reeds Springs Pizza CO. on Saturday evening. With the heat we might even do Nightwater Saturday. I imagine the daytime crowd will be terrible.
QuoteWe will be there Waiting for the rope drop and OUTLAW MIGHT RUN
Catchy. I like it. Kinda like Buzz Saw Falls apart. They better get the reliability issues resolved soon or they could get the same kind of reputation and it's too good of a coaster to have to take it out within 5 to 10 years.

Sanddune......we're gonna be in Branson late on Sept 19...going home Sept 30
Oh Im sure they will get OR completely reliable soon. After all it took SFSL 2 years to work out the bugs with Mr Freeze. (year 1 it didnt run at all, or maybe a very small percentage), but after they got it worked out, it is very seldom down now.
We are tentatively planning on Oct 13 to be our next SDC visit. We will see how it pans out.

Will be at the HomeStay Inn starting tonight and staying until Tuesday morning. If you're there please let us know. We would love to meet up.
Paige and Co are pretty amazing. ;D ;D ;D
busymom, we will check in sat afternoon, then out to do some running around... but we will be out in front of the lobby around 10 in the evening after the show,, sitting and talking. come by and say hi.....
otherwise we will be at the fire engine waiting for opening ceremonies..
CYA!!!!
Anyone going this weekend? Looks like we'll be there Saturday. Shouldn't be a busy weekend since it is between festivals.
The best time to go is BETWEEN festivals: SDC Unplugged!
Well, nevermind. Guess we'll try another time when they aren't going to transplant 20000 from springfield into he city for he day. A one year old doesnkt wait an hour to ride the frogs well.
???? dianagirl.... please explain...?? ??? ???
St. John's Day :-\
Sorry for the typos. Autocorrect doesn't work when you need it to. The cox medical system is having their employee day on Saturday. That's too many people to try to work through, especially when shows are limited and the rides will be crazy.
yeah, that sounds a little extreme
agree okie.. 20,000?? employees and families...WOW...
if that is true, be ready for a new all time high attendance day

Are you sure it's not 2,000? We were there one year at the same time as a huge medical group, and it wasn't too bad.
They use to buy out CC for a day every year. Usually 17,000-20,000 in attendance.
We will be at the City on Sept 21st - 22nd. If you're going to be there let me know and we'll arrange a meet-up.

Have decided to make a trip down this sunday want to see the park for opening weekend of the fall festival... anyone else be there sunday?
I will be between the gazebo and the fire engine around 9:45 or so waiting for opening ceremony. Anxious to meet anyone there that shows up..!
Printed off the show schedule and "scheduling" my sunday now... ;D
not me---remember earlier in the year when I was practically laid off? Well we are working all weekend. We worked last night (Friday the 13th :o) we are working tonight and Sunday night. BTW United Healthcare is updated their medicare extensoin insurance. Look for your book in the mail (to whom it concerns) --- then thank me for busting my can all weekend for producing this lousy book.
It doesnt look like we will be at the city on the weekend of Oct 13. We now have a 50th anniversary party to attend.
We will likely hit the campground next weekend to camp then winterize. We will be in Branson sometime in Oct. Which weekend? Havent made any plans yet.
Anyone going to the crafts show? Got to ask a favor: Buck Taylor's dad, Dub Taylor, did the voiceover for Grandpappy Dugan at the diving bell. Could somebody ask Buck if he knew about that, and see if he has any recollection of the ride, his dad's part in it, and so on. I'm just curious. I have wanted to get up there and ask him in person, but, I have not had the chance. Thanks to anyone who can help! :)
Junior, I will be there tomorrow, will attempt to remember to ask.......
And for anyone else there tomorrow (sunday), I will be at the 920 show for horsecreek band, then will be by the fire engine for opening ceremony, will have my wide brimmed dark leather hat on and a plaid sleevelss short...
Buck Taylor is not supposed to be at the City until the 18th. Has a prior engagement this weekend as a featured artist at the Pendleton Round-Up rodeo in Oregon. If no one has asked him about this by next weekend I'll see if he remembers.
what Duelist said...His booth is set up with prints at the Frisco Barn, however...
Thanks, all! I've been curious about that issue for years. I'd love to meet Buck and ask him in person. I hope I still have the chance. Plus, I love watching him on Gunsmoke! :)
Likes like our crew will be at the City on the 28th. My favorite festival and favorite time of year for SDC!

I don't think so, but the final schedule hasn't yet been decided. I'll let you know.
Looks like it'll just be Saturday, sanddunerider. Bummer!
:(. maybe next time.. have a great visit.!
Let me request this again, please. If anyone has a chance to visit with Buck Taylor, could you ask him about his dad's role as "Grandpappy" at the diving bell. It was a voice over role that probably was done in just a day or two time back in early 1977. Any info is appreciated. Thanks! :)
Junior, I gotcha covered! I will be there sunday, and Buck Taylor should be there also.... ;D
Thanks!
Anyone going to the city this coming Saturday? (Oct. 5, 2013) !!
We will be there. It looks like I will have a quick Sat/Sun to getaway. We are leaving home when we wake up Saturday and heading to Branson. I expect to be there in the 9-10 AM timeframe. We will be at SDC on Saturday, rain/cold or warm/dry. Either way we are going. We need to leave for home by about 10 AM Sunday. We have to stop at the campground we like to attend on the way back home and pick up the camper. It has been at the campground since Labor Day as I have been working everyday.
Not sure what room I will be in, but I/we, will be at Homestay. Paige said they are remodeling the KING rooms, so we might be in a double queen room, she really didnt know yet.
Let me know who will be there.
will be in branson sat/sun...
Will be @ SDC for the opening ceremony sunday.. standing between gazebo and Fire engine area..
Will be at homestay also, around 10 pm or so sat evening we will be up at the motel office sitting outside talking and maybe partaking in an adult beverage or 2 ;D
I am planning on going the weekend of the 18th. Anybody else?
Yes we'll be there the 19th and 20th. The 20th is my daughters 10th birthday.
By gum, Duelist, sooner or later we are gonna have to run into each other. Seems like we're always there around the same time
^^^
Sounds good to me!
Okie-you know we came close to meeting up once. I think something happened to you and you had to cancel or something. Details are sketchy, but it seems like Paige told me that you cancelled kinda late. (Im pretty sure it was you anyway).
Oh well, we will be at Homestay Thanksgiving weekend. Anyone else in Branson then?
The student loan people got me. Garnished my check to the toon of $500 per check. Taken care of now, but that was pretty bad.
I can't decide if I'm more mad, sad, disgusted or disappointed! Maybe all of the aforementioned. I broke my leg/hip two weeks ago, and that knocked out my Columbus Weekend trip, the upcoming 5K, and very possibly Thanksgiving. I'm stuck in this stupid rehab center for quite awhile yet. So...if you are lucky enough to be headed to the park soon...PLEASE POST PICS! I'll have to "live" my trips through your pics. >:( :( :o :'(
Sorry to hear that Gilligan....that sucks. But stay in rehab! Stay in whatever they stick you in!! It is sooooo important to keep with the sucky suck suck crap. Good luck in the healing process. Hope it goes quick!
Gilligan...... damn!! sorry man! I didn't know.. I was at the city this weekend, I could have blasted you dozens of pics.. beautiful day sunday and low traffic count it was a great day...!!!
OOPSS Wait....
I mean it was TERRIBLEE!!! sure glad you weren't there it was BAD,, (that help any)..
GET WELL AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!!!
PS>>!!! Yes I will be there Thanksgiving weekend, will roll in sat midafternoon... catch a couple of shows, SDC on sunday....
OKIE-Im glad you got that worked out. WHEW. On a good note, maybe you should feel lucky that they can take $500 out of your check. If someone garnished me to the tune of $500 a check. They would get the whole check, and I would owe them $100. So to those who think you might be hurting, remember, there is always someone who has less.
Gilligan. Im sure praying for your rehab.
I will try to remember my camera at Thanksgiving. We will likely roll in to the Homestay about 9PM Wed night, and stay till Sunday AM. Plan to be at the City Thurs, Fri, and Sat.
Yes we get a 5 day (paid) weekend over Thanksgiving. HAHA and day shift only gets Thursday and Sat/Sun. This is really the only time of the year that working 2nd shift pays off in spades at my place.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes and the prayers! It looks like I'll be in here a little longer than I expected, but SDC forum gives me something to look forward to everyday!
Sanddune - you really made me laugh! Thanks! :)
Trams - I'm working hard! Holy cow! They're about to rehab the devil out of me!
Enjoy your visits! I'll be looking forward to hearing about them!
Gilligan, you know us, we are here to help!!.. (or not?)..
Doing my best to goad my hubby into taking us on Sunday the 20th, but chances are we'd go later in the morning. It's our last chance for the fest, and we still need it for our ornament!

Awww....you guys are great! You set this forum high above any other!!
Gilligan-you know the Farmers Almanac is calling for a below normal temps. and above normal snowfall for the 2013/2014 winter season, right?
--Snowy & cold is not too bad (I mean ITS TERRIBLE) weather to be at SDC. Just horrible. No one wants to be there in these conditions. You are "much better off" in a nice (climate controlled) envinronment.
-----I mean, you have to worry about paying those exhorbant prices on Hot Chocolate, just to keep you warm. Or worse yet, you wont have to worry about falling on the snow slickened hill after paying high prices for a funnel cake.
Now after hearing reality, dont you feel sorry for me/wifey? We are going to be suffering "brutely" thru all of that mess. ::) ::)
Hope you feel better now. I really hope you feel better LITERALLY very soon.
SHHHH... don't tell Giligan...... ;)
Who is going to be there for opening weekend of OTC, we will be there sunday.
OK Sanddune--I will not tell Gilligan that you will be there. ;D
(Oh Gilligan) trust me, no one will be at SDC for opening weekend of OTC. :o
Qwed- LOL!!
your right, no one will be there, extended forcast is cold, windy and rain ALL weekend... it will really be nasty.. SDC probably wont even open the gates!!! :o :o :o :o
(shh! not really ;))
We are definitely going to be in Branson this weekend. We are tentatively planning to go out to SDC Saturday but it will probably depend on the weather and also if something else fun comes along. We only have two nights and a whole list of Christmas shows we'd like to see, so it's hard to decide what to do...
We're going to be in Branson Nov 15 thru 24. At Homestay 17-24. Anybody going to SDC the days they are open then?
Wednesday, November 27 - Sunday, December 1st we will be in Branson
yeah, yeah, I know, its the busiest time to go, but that is when we always go! It's fun! :)
We get to go this weekend! I am so excited. It is a last minute decision for us. It will be the last trip for us this year. Boooo.
lady drifter, miss kim, if you want to come by homestay inn sat nite around 10 or so, we will have a small bonfire going. little relaxing, little conversation. bring beverage of your choice. :) be glad to meet ya,,
I'm actually staying at Homestay, so we definitely might run into each other. We're seeing a show tomorrow night but should be getting back around 10 pm...
Well....I don't know what to say! It's just a darn shame that the cold, blustery weather will keep you all away. I'm sure sorry that none of you will be able to make opening weekend (*wink* *wink*). Closing the gates sounds like the best idea yet. ;D Now, be sure to post those pics that NO ONE will be taking. Especially you, Sanddune, since I know for sure you won't be there!
Here's some really good news: :) :) :) Caring people will be sending me my t-shirt and race number since I can't attend the 5K! I'm thrilled with that! I can't wait to wear it race day and see the look on the faces of the patients in rehab! Rube, if you're going to the race, I expect pics to be posted. This will be the first year I'll miss the race. *sadness*
misskim, we wont arrive until sat afternoon, going to hit a couple of shows, then back to motel after 9:30 or so... CYA then.
Gilligan, i'm sorry I wont be able to psot any of the pics I wont be taking since i wont be there.. ;) ;) ( did i say that right). Maybe someone else that isn't going and not taking pictures can help you out....OR not.,!.
Glad to hear about the shirt/number thing,.. friends cant be beat!
Envious of my parents...they are attending the Christmas Preview Party tonight at SDC.
I tried to pull off the pre Christmas gathering... could not get it done.. I think it would be fun...
sanddunerider - thanks for the invite. By 10 Saturday night, my kiddos (3 and 5) had best be in bed and well on their way to lala land. Have to catch ya sometime when it is just me and the hubby. :)
Man I can say this year has been a crazy roller coaster for us - but not a fun one like OR, PK, TNT, WF, or FITH - This year started off with car repairs, then my layoff, then extensive overtime. Now its back to Jeep repairs again. Now I have been working good hours, but 2 sets of parents that my wife watches kids for, has been evicted and has to move. They are not going to pay now until like early Jan. And will get caught up completely at tax time. Big stinkin deal. Now all the money I make will not pay our bills, I need her money too, (which we are not getting now).
So I guess between Christmas gifts, Jeep repairs, non-paying parents. It looks like we have been to Branson the final time this year (at the beginning of Oct.). This might be the first time in 27 years that we do not spend Thanksgiving at SDC. Good golly, What a freakin miserable stinkin year. Not to mention Obamacare just bit me hard. Our policy at work is no longer good. We had to get a new policy. Rates went from $40 (every other week) to an astounding $180 (every other week) starting Jan.
Oh well we will just see what happens I guess. Have fun all that can go!
WOW Qwed! That stinks! It's not been a stellar year for us either, but you've had more than your share. I hope things will improve for you very soon!
Well thanks Gilligan. But this is just our physical life. Remember physical life is only about 10% of what happens, and the other 90% is how you accept it/react to it. We are still trying hard to go for "at least" 1 night over Thanksgiving. (We had planned on the usual 3 nights), but that is obviously -out!
However we have a "MASTER" if you will, that has a much greater plan. If his plan is for us to NOT go, then we must listen and obey. His way will always be the best way "in the end".
And really, this year has been a big blow to our bank account, but we still have electric, cars, and a freezer full of food. Not to mention cell phones, and DirecTv.
(What Im trying to say is), we still have things that we can let go and not kill us physically. (If it comes to that). and we do need a car because the closest bus stop (near my house) is actually about 500 feet from my work driveway. Which is 25 miles from home.
So really no money does not mean "no life". Things are still pretty good. I have a fairly large family that I get to see at least every Sunday in Church. Its just a matter of being creative with the money you are blessed with. And enjoying the down time to get to know whats really important. PEOPLE YOU LOVE

if everything goes as planned, we should be at the park on Fri. the 22nd
We'll be listening to the Pickers for all of their shows....walking around and trying to fit in the plays too.
Cheesehead, we will miss you this time for sure.. wont be down until after turkey day..
You guys have a good visit, safe trip home.. Hope winter aint too hard on you two this year, and we will see you next year.. ;D
cheesehead57 -- we wont be at the park till 11 or 12am. but do plan on staying all day so we can see the lights. i'll keep ya posted. ;)
We'll be there early as we have some Wisconsin cheese for the Pickers.
We will be in branson next weekend also, will arrive mid morning sat and have several thing to do in town, will be going to the city on sunday (hoping the weekend crowd will be gone)..
hoping to be in the square sunday by 12:30 or so... ( sure miss the opening ceremony during OTC)..
who else is going to be there? lets set up a meeting...
who else is staying at homestay?
Also sat evening , if your up and around at the end pf the day we will be at homestay, out front of the lobby. will have a bonfire going. stop in and join us.. bring beverage of your choice.. Paige will have coffee pot on.. we usually start this activity around 10 or so..
CYA THEN...
Maybe, maybe, maybe if I can tolerate the drive, the hubs and I will be there Wed. - Mon. We're not sure what evening we'll be at the City - whatever is deemed the least crowded as it's not a good idea to be jostled around much yet.
Still planning on arriving Friday. Thanks to very dear member here, my Son & GF just might be with us. It all depends on snail mail from here. (Thank You to -- you know who you are) I wont mention the name, but some may know this name has meaning, some may have never seen the show.
Gilligan, I would have to assume sunday will be the slow day.. with a lllooooong weekend, people should be going home.. ;).. Lets hope for warmer weather on sunday for us. :)
That's what I was thinking, also. We're going to try Wed. and see how it goes, but Sun. will probably be it.
Thanksgiving dinner will be at Grand Country Buffet on 76 tomorrow night!
My Family & I will be at the City Friday (29th) & Saturday (30th).
I bet grand country has a BIG spread for thanksgiving.. ;)
I have eaten at Grand Country on Thanksgiving day before. Very good meal. Very expensive. Last year it was either $20 or $25 a plate. IMO its not quite good enough to justify that price.
Dollar City Boy. Check your PMs We will be at the City then also.
Anyone else be in the City this Thanksgiving weekend? Sanddune, if we miss you at the City, we will likely join you around the campfire.
WOW!! that does sound pricey?
Wonder what dinner is at the Keeter Center? Now they know how to serve a meal.! did father's day there a couple of years ago...... WOW!!!!....
I read somewhere that it's. $16.99 per person. SDC discounts won't apply Thanksgiving Day.
16.99 would not be that out of line pricing... their regular dinner meal is 12.99 I think.....
It was indeed $16.99 at Grand Country.
We enjoyed our meal, it was very nice.
$16.99 at Grand Country. thats good. I just looked at last years stuff. It was $16.99 last year (which is better than what I was thinking at $20) I was trying to remember though. I did find my receipt from last year finally. Either way, they have a good meal there. Generally we eat at Dixie Stampede on Thanksgiving, but not this year. We didnt get down till Friday. Cant wait to meet up with everyone in 2014

If drinks aren't included in price, it probably was around $20 Qwed.
We had been planning to do our family OTC trip thsi Saturday, but the flooding rains in the forecast (and temps in the low 40s) have scared us away.
My wife is off the 26th and the 30th, so it looks like we're going to try either the 2nd or the 6th Day of Christmas this year.
Snow doesn't scare us. Soaking rains in low temps do, however.
well keep in touch palalin, I may be there the 30th also.... have not decided yet, but seriously hoping to be there 29th or 30th.....
Well...we are free to come to the park on the 31st after we say goodbye to our son at the airport. Darn! Why couldn't they stay open just a few more days...
We'll be at the City this Saturday the 21st with our waterproof on :D
It is supposed to be rather raw. Too bad this weekend couldn't be like it was on Wednesday, weather-wise. The park really could use a nice weather weekend
OK!!?? So who is going to try to make it this last weekend? we will get to town on sunday, planning on the city on Monday..!!
When r u going to arrive in Branson? whats your plans.??
we will be there today.. supposed to meet tinman at the "fire truck" on the square about noon.. we will hang out there until they drop the chains...
see you there

I have to apologize, Sanddune: my wife decided literally on the morning of the 26th that we were going that day. I barely had time to get in the car much less to post.
No apology needed..!! we go when we can. ;)
hoping to meet more of the group in 2014..
