Title: Going for the first time today!
Post by: mitcham on November 21, 2012, 07:13:48 AM
My question is:  The SDC website indicates that the park is open from 1:00 - 9:00 today.  So what time should we get there?  Do we need to arrive at noon to get parked and into line?  Thanks for any info.

My experience is, try to get there early as possible. Plenty of time to look around, ride some rides, see the shops. If you want to see "It's a Wonderful Life," or "Dickens' Christmas Carol," better get in line quick! Both will have long waits, but are worth it. The train is better at night when you can enjoy lights and Grandpa's Christmas Story. In the evening, as it gets dark, you will love the lights. The nightly big Christmas tree lighting on the town square and the parade are not to be missed. Even better, try going two nights in a row, and enjoy a slower pace. Christmas at SDC is wonderful, experience it all you can! :)

I would head out there noon or so, give you time to park and catch the tram to the city,,,

Once in, "In My Opinion", I would head in to the main square and head off to the right. That roadway will guide you toward the red gold hall and Its a wonderful life, it will probably fill up early...

You may get lucky today, a lot of people are still traveling so the park may start off slow....

If you can get in to see dickens on the other side of the park, do so.!!  I dont know if your going to do rides or lights.... try to catch the 2 show during the daylight...that way you can enjoy the awesome lights,,, OBVIOUSLY cath the tree lighting and the parade...LO

LOTS AND LOTS to see... hope your going 2 or 3 days, becuase you cant seeit all in 1 day,,,

remmeber they open the "gates" at noon,  so you can get to the main square and Hospitality house area, BUT the park does not open unitl 1..

Be prepared to satnd in line for the 2 big show AND the traion ride,.,,anwhere from 45-60 minutes.......BUT they are worth the wait,,!!

HAVE A GREAT VISIT!!  Let us know tonite how it went,,,!!!!
