I know that I have not posted much on the site lately, but today I come to you all to ask for prayers and thoughts. Our 18 month old child passed away yesterday Oct. 23, 2012. He went to sleep on the evening of the 22nd and passed sometime during the night. We had no warning as he had only a slight fever and no reason to think of anything otherwise. My wife awoke to find him the next morning, and as I was at work I recieved that emergency call that all parents in emergency services fear, the call to your home address. I know that things will get better over time but right now we could use all the prayers we can get. We have a wonderful family and freind base surrounding us right now but we could use all the love we can get. Thank You all and God Bless.
Robert
Robert I am so sorry to hear of your terrible loss. I'm sure words can't describe what you and your family are going through right now. You definitely have the thoughts and prayers of my family. May God bless and comfort you through this tragic time.
I am so sorry to hear of this loss for your family. I will certaintly be praying for your family during this time.
May God bless and keep you. Very sorry to hear about the loss.
I too will pray for strength in this time of loss. I am sorry to hear it.
Yes, you are at the top of my prayer list. I'm so very sorry.
Bobber,That is terrible, sorry for your loss....
Praying for you and your family.
Thank you all. Last night we touched our baby for the last time. We showered him with kisses and tears. The services were more than we could have ever asked for and the outpouring of support both from our friends and family as well as those of you here has been overwhelming. We have great memories as we, the ones that are left her on this earth, begin our healing process. I just take solice in the fact that he will not ever feel any pain, nor have to ever go through anything remotely like this ever. My father in law has said it the best so far as he has said " I hope that when it is my time to go, that I would have made as much of an impact on this world in my 50 years as this little boy has done in his short 18 months." Once again I would like to thank each an every one of you for your prayers and support we love you all. Robert Burton and Family
I assume the photo you are using as an avitar is of your boy. Won't it be wonderful, when it is your time to go, that one of the first people to greet you at the gate will be that beautiful boy? Again,God bless.
Wow, as a sympathetic father of a 1 year old I can't even begin to offer enough condolences. Rest assured that my extended family and local church family will be praying for you in this difficult time.
We will be praying as well. Know that your extended SDC Fans family is with you.
I am so sorry for your loss. I, too, will be thinking and praying for you.
Thoughts & Prayers.
So very sorry for your loss...
I'm so sorry for your loss. Our family will be praying for yours.
I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are going out to you and your family/ those affected by this.
I have a 12 month old that developed some severe eye/vision problems in the last 2 days, and we are honestly freaking out. I do not mean to hijack any thread, but this could be pretty severe as suddenly as things happened, any prayers are appreciated. We are hoping to get into a strabismus specialist our pediatrician is sending us to tomorrow. Praying for the best. Thank you
Still praying for your family, Bobber. And yours also, Rube. My daughter had severe strabismus and had corrective surgery at age 2 1/2. It turned out fine, so stay positive! It's a scary thing when one's children must deal with medical issues. Keep us updated.
Thanks Gilligan, today's Dr. appt really did nothing but make us worry more now that we know the possibilities of what the cause could be. Our little one is definitely suffering from an acute strabismus caused by a nerve problem. Now we have to put her under for an MRI (so worried about this step) and also praying the outcome is just a virus that is effecting her nerve, nothing worse. They say it is just to "rule out" brain injury/ stroke/ tumor, but I am always wondering what they really are saying. Our doc called tonight and told us not to read anything on the internet...too late, did that yesterday. Keep the prayers coming for our little Mac.
Rube you are not hijaking the thread so don't worry about that :) We are all a family here and I am more than happy to share a thread with any one of you. I only wish that the circumstances were different. Prayers for your family as you embark on this journey, and I hope that the doctors can find a fix for the situation you are facing. God Bless you and your family and all of you that have given us your thoughts and prayers over the last few days.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bobber and Rube.
MRI today at Noon, praying this unhappy and hungry baby gets some good news today. Hopefully we hear today the results. Thanks once again for all the thoughts and prayers and continued support from the SDCfans family.
My family is still praying for everyone. Best wishes
Well, it's about noon now (Central Time), so I hope we get to hear some positive results this afternoon. :)
We got the results from the Brain stem and Brain MRI, and it everything checked out fine. This more than likely means that it was not a brain injury/ and or tumor that caused her strabismus, but instead a virus that needs to run its' course. Until then we will have to patch her good eye for several hours a day, but thank you to all of you who prayed for her along the way.
Glad to hear the good news Rube!
Daughter Update: My 15mth old had double eye surgery today to alleviate the double vision/ crossed eye-strabismus in her Left eye she has had since October. It was about a 2 hour outpatient surgery, and we should know within the next 5-6 weeks if the surgery was a success and if it will need to be repeated. This is mainly why I have not been too active on the boards over the last 3 months.
Oh Rube, its okay! I hope it goes as planned. I will pray for your family.. :)
Rube, good luck man!!! hope that fixes the daughter right up.!
God bless and all best wishes, Rube and family!
Thinking of you & your Family, Rube.
I'll be prayin'!
Surgery now turned into more than likely an infection in one of the eyes for my 15 mth old. It is so hard to wait so long until noon tomorrow thinking of what it could be/ become. Please pray for her sight.
God bless you and your family. Prayers going up! :)
She is home again with more than likely an irritation from the stitches in her eye, with a possible infection...she is a trooper!
Hang in there, Rube.
i guess it is my turn to ask for prayer. I went to the doctor yesterday with an abcess infection and the doctor says it is septic. I had planned to be at SDC this weekend until I saw the weather was going to be bad. Now I am having emergency surgery at 6PM tonight.
Praying for skilled hands for the surgery and a speedy recovery so that we can have you back up and at SDC where you should be!
Prayers sent up for you, okiebluegrass.
