Does anybody buy the photos they take of you on some of the thrill rides like Wildfire or Powder Keg? How about the tintype shop? Do you and your family dress up and get a group photo while on your trips? Our family had one made when I was a kid in 1978. I did some individual tintypes in costume when I worked at SDC, and had a group tintype made each year at end of summer. Since then...not once. If you have a ride photo or a tintype, post it here, I'm sure everyone would love to take a look. You can see several of my tintypes from those days long ago on my flickr site. (Pages 3 and 4 on flickr) http://www.flickr.com/photos/juniordugan
Been going since 1981, and have nearly 1 for each year since then.
Why sure....
This is a book we got with one of our picture back in 2005. It is not tintype tho', i have only 1 true tintype.
more..
the one with my parents is a true tintype.
Those are great! ;D
Only ride photo I have ever purchased oddly enough is Buzzsaw Falls, funny since that is the only ride that isn't there anymore!
Come on Rube...post it for us!

The two in the front are my friend RJ and my sister Brittany, then I'm in the seat behind them. (They made me ride with a stranger.)

This was from the Show Choir trip I'm always talking about... We decided to pose for this picture.
The three in the back is me, Natasha, and my best good friend Robby. The ones in front of us are Michaela, Kim and Amber.
We were seriously the only teenagers in the park all day, except for a band from one of the local high schools. The rest of the people were at least 60+

The very back row (from left to right) is Kaneasha, CJ, Brittany and Austin. Then Kelsey is in the green shirt in front of Brittany, and I'm in the red shirt in front of Austin. The kid in the orange shirt next to Kelsey flirted with her the whole time we were in line then followed us around the rest of the day.

Front row: CJ & Kaneasha, then me and Kelsey, then Austin and Brittany.
I have no idea why Austin was making that face... He gave a reason but I can't remember lol

I have more from when I was younger, but I'd have to dig through boxes and albums. If I eventually come across them, I'll try to post them.
Okie Dokie Junior! That's me back row

Thanks Tiff and Rube! ANYONE ELSE GOT A PHOTO TO POST?
My last avatar (profile picture) was of me , son-in-law, and grandson on AP.
We never did the ride-photo thing. But my parents do have two tintypes. One with me as a baby taken at the outdoor photo place that was by the old taffy shop cabin (across from the train) and a second one years later when my brother and I were young taken indoors at the tintype shop at the bottom of Hill street. Next time I go home I'll try to remember to snap a shot of them.
Off topic: I wish there was an outdoor photo option still. I would love to have one of me and hubby, but the indoor sets look so cheap/fake to me, and I want an option for my picture besides "Saloon". :-\
I also have some photos that aren't tintypes but are just as special to me. Two years a friend and I went to the park during the fall dressed up in our pioneer outfits. We got some really nice pictures taken in the school house and around the homestead. I'll try to dig those up also.
I have tintype from 1980 - my Homeland Security son was 3 months old at the time and wearing a gown and bonnet! He hates that picture; of course, I love it! I'll try to post it, but I never have much luck on here.
Ozarks Gal - Outdoor picture option, great idea!! SDC should think about that..
Outdoor photos were great, we have about 10 of them. With today's digital cameras it would not be a problem, but years ago, they had film issues, humidity, weather etc. To deal with. Moving exclusively indoors allowed then to control the variables. My favorites are outdoor photos of ours, they look more natural and tin type-esque.
Have several extremely old tintypes from SDC in my parents house. Got one of the new ones done last year with my wife.
My mom and pop (pre kiddos) had a cave pic taken in 1974 or 76 or so...I am gonna have to find that.
Hey guys, I know this is a bit of an older thread, but I want to run a "Flashback Friday" for our Silver Dollar City TinType Photos Facebook page, and was curious if anyone had any old TinTypes from years past at Silver Dollar City that we could use? Thanks in advance!
Check my Flickr site for tintypes of the Rube Dugan's Diving Bell Crew from 1979-1983: http://www.flickr.com/photos/juniordugan

This is me and my boyfriend from last December.
I took a picture of the picture after putting it in a frame ;)

I have one from 1979.
Tiff, i like that shot..
Thanks :)
How did you upload that photo on here? I've tried many times without success. Good photo, Tiff!
Upload the photo to a photo site like photobucket, and then click the "Insert Image" button on the Post Reply screen, assuring to paste the link to the photo. (Photo bucket has a list of links on the right hand side once the photo is uploaded, simply copy the "direct link-a WWW address) and paste it in the afore mentioned place -between the middle brackets on the insert image promt:
[img] paste direct link here!
Thanks very much everyone! I'll definitely get these added to our collection!
give me a day or so tintypeguy, gotta dig stuff out to get it. :D
I have to pull mine out of the closet and follow Rube's instructions. I'll have mine up by tomorrow.

my sister, brother, wife & i
I love tintype photos!
Thanks everyone for all of the photos! I will be working on getting a few of them onto our facebook pages!
I never took any tintypes. My father was a professional photographer, and I hated (still do) posing for photos.
I think I bought one or two cave tour photos way back in the day, but I have no idea whatever happened to them.
hmm family tintypes starting in 1981 every year until present day...30+ of my family, wish I could scan them all to show my aging progress!
1979. Our son is 3 months old (now 34).

WOW!!! That would be quite the album!
Hubs and daughter - probably....1999.
I'll have to see @TinTypeGuy how to go about scanning these, as I think it would also be awesome!
