George Lindsey, who played Goober on the Andy Griffith show, has pased away.

He was a talented guy. Met him in 1981 at Hee Haw Theater in Branson when he performed. See the "Hee Haw Theater" thread for more info on George and the Hee Haw Theater in Branson, and check out my Flickr site for some photos of the theater.
Well that stinks...Everytime one of these characters passes away it reminds me of the George Jones song "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes." It just doesn't seem like they make actors like that anymore...
your right josh, .. 'nuf sed!
I saw this on MSN today :'(
If today wasn't Sunday, I would have sat around and watch my Hee Haw DVDs, but because of church, I know have plans for tomorrow.
Seems like a lot of entertainment legends have been passing on recently. I think I may flip my television to an Andy Griffith Show just to enjoy more of his talent.
Gomer: Andy, Goober says, "Hey."
Andy: Hey to Goober.
Oddly enough I remember more Gomer that Goober, even though Gomer was only in 23 episodes of TAGS while Goober starred in 86 episodes. I guess I just always caught the early syndicated episodes in b/w not many of the newer color episodes.

I'm same with you. I remember Gomer more from Andy Griffith. I recognize Mr. Lindsey mostly from Hee Haw.
Said it once and I'll say it again.... :(
They need a new version of Hee Haw
I'm willing to be a castmember!

And is still playing a hippie in real life!
I saw at the "Find a Grave" Website George was buried in his hometown of Jasper, Alabama. Rest in peace, Goob!
