Does anyone know of any 'secrets' in or around Branson, like a place to lay out under the stars with a view of the Ozark Hills or a lake and not be bothered by anyone?
It can be on the outskirts of town or in a surrounding town, just not more than an hour away from Branson.
Go out around Table Rock Lake, late at night to any of the public access points. They are usually very quiet and provide great places to look at the stars. (Take someone special with you, it does add to the fun.) ;)

That was the point ;)
Thank you!
we have always enjoyed the scenic overlook park just up the hill from butterfly palace headin' to SDC. it has trails you can walk also.
I agree on Table Rock, go south on 86 (into Ridgedale) and go to the marina. If you go after 4:00 now I think until May then after 7:00 you don't have to pay and can hang out over by the swimming area (not crowded at this time ). It's very calming and a great view of the sunset right on the water. They have benches you can sit on, etc. I always go there when I can just to watch the sun go down; it's just in the right place and man is it awesome view! :D
The Henning overlook closes at sunset...so be careful of that. The trails are nice, they lead to a nice lookout, with a few benches along the way.
Don't go getting into too much trouble there Tiff!

I've got friends in who live in B-town. I'm sure if they found out, they'd follow me :P
On the north side of the Table Rock Lake dam is a little isthmus that juts out into the lake, made for just the kind of thing you're talking about. You can park, walk down a few yards to the lake and dangle your feet in the water. There's usually not very many people there and if there are, you can walk around the trees to get out of sight from them. You can probably see what I'm talking about on google maps. Just take Aunt Molly's (Shad Heller's wife) advice: If you go out and sow your wild oats on Saturday night...be sure to go church the next morning and pray for a crop failure.
Hahahaha!!!
Thanks!
