Post by: How-doFolks on April 08, 2012, 08:49:40 AM
We used to go to Michels for breakfast in Branson West. Well, we finally had our last bad exspeariance. We need to find a new place for a early breakfast, preferribly a mom & pop type of place that aint to far from Reed Springs. And needs to be open by about 7-8am, anyone got any ides?

Thanks!

I know what you mean about that last bad experience.  We used to eat there on the way to getting our boat out of storage - it was a very convenient place to stop.  There used to be a place in Branson W called Donnies' Diner.  It was pretty good a couple of years ago.

The place you need to go is Billy Gail's Cafe. Great food, beautiful scenery and close to SDC. Open at 7!

My favorite place on "that side of town" is the Indian Point Marina restaurant.  They are open for breakfast fairly early, and the food is good.  Seating is available inside or out.

Sounds like a great way to start the day.

It is very cool, Sanddune.  You can eat and watch the boats come in and out, and feed the fish and turtles that hang around the dock.  We have never had more than a 15 min. wait.  Really good coffee!!

COFFEE :o  :o :o :o :o :o       Thats very important early in the morning...

2 other places in branson,
#1 is grand country buffet, very reasonable price and a HUGE amount of options and different foods.
2nd place a friend of mine swears by is...(ok work with me) just south of the titianic on the west side of the road,, it is a diner of sorts, but i believe is buffet style.

We would always get Billy Gails and then not eat again until dinner just because you get that much food! The pancakes are the largest I have ever seen!

Lately we eat our meals at The hotel, and that fills us great (it is very similar to our home meals-cereal, oatmeal, fruit etc. My wife is amazing at home making smoothies for us for breakfast, but unfortunately out of town I don't get those! ANd if I would buy what she makes...it would be an arm and a leg.

No coffee for me EVER! it makes me shake too much, and then I cannot paint, carve, or do anything with fine motor skills without shaking even with the decaf.

Might sound kind of peculiar, but Branson's IHOP adjacent from Celebration City is one of my favorite places to eat in the town. The food is shockingly delicious for another chain restaurant. Plus, you gotta enjoy that view of CC! ;)

Branson also has a hand-full of little diners and hidden gems. Just hafta keep your eyes glued on the strip!

We LOVED Peppercorns for breakfast. (Now Great American Chicken & Steak)
It had a wonderful breakfast buffet, and great atmosphere; we were sad to see it leave.  :'(

The Uptown Cafe at 76 & 165 has a pretty good buffet.  It's hard to beat Molly's in the city though.  Hot apple butter - mmmmmmmmm...........

In Kimberling city there's a little hole in the wall kind of place called Ma's.  If you get the whole order of biscuits and gravy you might not need lunch.  Pretty darn good food, very laid back and basic country restaurant atmosphere.  Don't go expecting anything fancy or for the plates or silverware to match all the way around the table.

The Indian point marina restaurant (the floating cafe) was closed when we went there on April 14th at 9 am.
