My favorite experience last year would have to be listening to Eden's Edge in Echo Hollow. I also enjoyed watching Nick Wallenda fly in on a helicopter and perform his aerial stunts. I don't usually watch Echo Hollow shows, so this was fun!
The TRAMS!! lol. No I love and miss the smell. Still trying to find essence of asphalt to make an SDC candle. haha. I miss hooooome!!!
Mmmmmm?? lets see.... 2012?? ??? ??? No wait 2011... :o :o.
I enjoyed the "logging" events,
the birds of prey in EH,
And of course Old Time Christmas!
when we took my daughter & her boyfriend, they are in their mid 20s. we told the boyfriend that the baldknobbers on fire in the hole try to reach out & grab ya. he held on to her thru the entire ride. :D
Edited the title for ya there Gilligan!
Thanks Rube! :) I appreciate that!
thats better!! good job!!!
Add my name to the list of folks who thought the log demonstrations were a hoot! Definitely a nice addition to the Harvest Festival.
My favorite part of 2011 was going back for the first time in 6-7 years! I enjoy poking around, finding what was new/changed.
I have taken a 5 year break from Silver Dollar City in the past, so I feel you pain. I forgot to mention that I also liked the log splitting / building area near the Taffy Shop. Another great addition of 2011! :)
This isn't my favorite exprieance from last year, but it sticks out in my mind:
I was in the taffy shop during Harvest fest and a lady went over to the free samples basket, shoveled a handfull into her purse, then grabbed another peice and ate it like nothing had happened. I saw the cashier noticed the lady do that. I jokingly said, "Are you gonna let her get away with that?" The cashier kinda grinned and said, "Nobody likes that flavor anyway."

:D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D
i have to go with the sweet potato chips
Do they sell sweet potato chips all season long? Yes, I live under a rock, but I have never heard of them, and would like to try them! ;D
i dont think so. only saw them advertised during christmas
Old Time Christmas and Hot Apple Dumplins will always be my favorite.
I also found a cool snack at the stand next to Riverside Ribhouse. It was brisket and coleslaw wrapped up in a tortilla. It was really good. I only saw them there during the Harvest Festival, though.
Apple dumplings, eggnog, coco ..you have been primed for the Christmas Festival already, and we haven't even gotten started! ;D I never knew about the snack near the Riverside Ribhouse I will have to check that one out. Yum, yum!
include some fries inside that sammich and you got a date!
One thing I looked forward to all year was the tomato basil soup sold at Wagon Works during OTC, but they quit selling it. ??? >:(
my favorite sdc experience last year was the people. like the little boys whose mother wasn't paying close attention to him. he had to go to the bathroom, so he found a secluded area (sort of) dropped his pants, squatted down, mom got to him in the nick of time. also miss the people who work there, on a slow day the waitress at the buffet breakfast had time to play checkers with my grandchildren. miss the saloon show, could watch it all day long. and i miss my buffet breakfast.
Favorite experiences...taking my grandson to SDC for the 1st time and taking my wife at Christmas and her enjoying and wanting to repeat the experience. She loves the lights. Also, it was good to see Terry Sanders and speak with him a few times over the year...I helped TRAIN him when he first arrived on park in 1980.
Someone just showed their age ;) ^
Oh yeah...I was 17 when I helped train Terry. I will be 50 this summer. Time marches on! ;)
I dont know about "favorite", But............
I did like the Lumberjack events last year,
I also very much liked The group that played at the Opera house during worldfest "the powerhouse" ( i think). They were great,
Also always look forward to having a "walking taco" during OTC,
The rest of the year I always look forward The Philly Steak Sandwhich we get down by Lake silver..
Ok that's 4.... enough for now..... LOL
last year my life long dream came true. i was in the saloon show. now i can die a happy man.

Haha! :D
Well, at least you have your priorities straight.
Not sure of the name but the wrapped apple dumpling with Cinnamon ice cream was really good.
I am not sure if this is only a Christmas offering but man it sure was good!.
Is "EVERYTHING" the proper answer? LOL Making memories, cinnamon bread, roller coasters, the shops, the bird show at EH, the night show at EH, the festivals (all of them), my grandchildren playing in "Half Dollar Hollar" then getting their Pa (my hubs) to buy each of them a build-an-animal in the shop next to HDH, riding the "froggies" with my grandchildren, roller coasters, riding the train w/the grandkids. The list goes on and on so I won't bore you. As you can see we just scratched the surface. Looking forward to making new memories in 2012.
Well, I got there around 5 on a Tuesday and I was absolutely the only person on FitH. That was pretty awesome :D
BusyMom, I think EVERYTHING is the best answer of all!
So in a nutshell, it sounds like the best thing busymom had last year was enjoying Silver Dollar City with family. It doesn't get any better than that! Although, having the entire Fire in the Hole ride to yourself comes in a close second. :D
