Title: SDC 1980 Media Photos
Post by: Junior on February 18, 2012, 12:22:41 PM
Tom Sawyer's Landing was Brand new this year...Whitewater was getting ready to open as a new water park...SDC employees were told a new ride coming in 1981 would be the American Plunge...it all happened in 1980. Check out these Flickr photos taken from Branson or Springfield newspapers that year, and take a stroll back in time some 32 years! http://www.flickr.com/photos/juniordugan  just click on the photos to enlarge them so you can read the captions/articles with them.

I'm seriously gonna build a time machine because I really want to LIVE all that stuff instead of just hearing about it and seeing pictures!

I do love the pictures though. Especially the old brochures. Thanks again Junior, you never disappoint.

8$!!?!! Outrageous..I'm not paying those prices.  Thanks for sharing.  I distinctly remember getting that 1986 brochure and being disappointed, but feeling much better about the '87 one and the cool new map.

Haha, the irony is it cost $8 just to get a snack at Silver Dollar City these days. :D

Thanks for sharing the pictures Junior!
