well here it is 2-12-12, By this time the last 2 years, we had Lots of snow and bad weather. So far this year we have had mild above average temps and no moisture to speak of..
BUT today I woke up to 0 degree windchill and 25 mph winds, with a skiff of snow. and suppose to last through friday nite,, And then back into the 40's on sat,, hope thats correct.
Whats it doing where your at? And I hope everybody is getting along good.
A dusting of snow here. An excited kid too! Ummm monday back to the 50s. Good ole Missouri weather. ::)
well i have about an inch maybe and 1 1/2 here in Illinois, and cold wind gust up too 35 mph and love it. and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it still January or did i miss something? ;D
Yeah I work with some oddball here in Honest Abe's Historical Hometown...Land who also enjoys this crap. Oh well, I can't complain. It's been a splendid winter up until today, and this really isn't so bad, just yet. It gets no love from me, though.
yes avalanche you missed out. it is really April, and the city has been open for a month already.. ;D
Didnt mean too upset you. and yes im one of them oddball guy's that love all the seasons.
Upset who? Aint nobody upset on this site..
it would take more than somebody that LOVES COLD & WIND to upset anybody here.. LOL.
Of course some of us may think you NUTS!!!!,, BUT hey! that is another conversation!!, LOL...
(and your right, it is only january :()
Its January??? Huh I was wondering why the wonderful warm spring weather was outta place!
We had almost 60 degrees yesterday (although in central Missouri it was Jan 11, not Feb ;D). This morning we probably had 1-2 inches, 25-35mph winds and I don't think it's gotten above 20 yet today. What a difference a day makes.
I hear ya! Missouri weather is sillier than those dang bowlin brothers!
Like Mark Twain said: "Everybody always complains about the weather but no one ever does anything about it." :D
The schools were closed here, including the college, so I was stuck at home with my sister and dad all day. Mom almost stayed home, but she decided to brave the crazy weather. The highest it got today was 19 degress, and I think Dad said we got about 2 or 3 inches of snow.
Well, it's currently 16 and gusting here in the Land of Lincoln, and all smart teachers are wearing their pajamas inside out. It's a sure bet for a SNOW DAY!
Here in Springfield on Thursday it was in the 20s and we only got a trace to maybe 1/4 inch of snow. My family a few counties north had 2 inches of snow, and some areas to our south also had more snow. Supposed to be 10* in the morning. Brrrrrrr!
lol ok sanddunnerider, sorry i thought i may have steped on your toe's glad too hear i didn't lol.

I tried logging on to your FB page Larson, but it won't let me. Are you a deer hunter? Sunday is the end of deer and pheasant season in Illinois.

Sorry, I didn't make that one public. Ill change it next time I'm in there or you can send me a friend request. There's a link in my profile. Just some pics of one of my daughters and some buddies shootin' some clay pigeons. I saw Dan had some pics on his wife's fb page of some lead flyin' also.
yes we did! see link above,
that day we went through almost 5 cases of pigeons, and no telling how much ammo.
Had the whole family out there that day.
It was a good day, :)

It's obviously been a while since any of us have picked up a shotgun. We went thru 2 cases of pigeons (180) and about 4 cases of shells (400)! Still a fun day, got one of my daughters to shoot for the first time. 12ga was too big for her but she still winged a couple. The 9mm scared her silly though! lol
She would love my little 410 over/under.! Too windy here today,, 65 degrees, very nice.. but 25 - 30 mph steady winds.. I guess that would make the pigeons fly though!!
It was windy here also, but we gave it a shot anyhow. She took a couple turns with a 20gauge think that was more her style. A 410 probably would be just about right. She didn't want anything to do with the AR-15 or the 44 mag revolver. Can't say I blame her for that one though. lol! ;D
yea, the ar15 barks alot,
44 mag? thats not even funny! Maybe my 22 mag auto, although it barks, BUT no kick! nice little weapon.
I have a new ar10, that i am waiting for a calm nice day to sight in. 20 inch barrel, it really barks!! I think I am going to set it dead on at 1/4 mile...
oh well back to work tomorrow..
Well I have a red rider BB gun! :P

Actually the AR probably had the least recoil of anything else there. But yeah, it's loud. As for the 44, even I won't one hand it. No Dirty Harry for me.
GreenTram, :D!! We just bought one last week to chase off a stray cat around our property. We dont wanna hurt or injure the kitty because we are animal people.
If you're close enough a BB gun can do some damage if hit in the right spot. One of the plastic pellet guns(not airsoft) is what I usually in situations like that. It won't hurt them but will get their attention.
The Red Ryder BB guns are still available! Come on down to Rogers, AR to the downtown area and tour the Daisy Airgun Museum. Daisy products were and still are produced here. The museum is housed in the historic Hobbs Building, right on the corner of Walnut and 2nd Street. Yes, the Red Ryder BB gun is sold inside. Do not expect to pay those prices you paid way back then as a kid to obtain one. The Red Ryder is a bit pricy. Well worth the investment if you collect airguns.
Larson your right!, be careful "scaring" animals with these new guns, Most of them them have a lot of "power" and the BB will go into the skin,
I agree with Larson, buy a soft pellet gun,, Also Aim for hind quarters, NOT neck/face area.
Or if you have a big problem, use a paintball gun and just shoot close by, the noise and paint spray will scare them too.( This is a little pricey, but effective)
Here Kitty Kitty!!.. LOL...

They sell Red Ryder BB guns at the Walmart in Sullivan, MO every year around Christmas. They sell them over by the hunting/camping supplies and everytime we go over that way, either my sister or I will go on the little 'Red Ryder BB gun' spiel. It drives my mom crazy!
we got our BB gun at wal-mart here in kc, it was right at $30.00.
My step dad got mine (really my kiddos) at a going outta business auction dirt cheap a few years ago. Yes that is right my step dad got my kid a BB gun when my kid was around 2 years old.......haha.
My mother-in-law got a 410 shotgun for her first wedding anniversary. The next year and all years following until she passed away, she received a piece of jewelry as a gift. Needless to say, that change in gifts saved the marriage! ;D
Oh...nix the gun idea? How long is the return policy at Bass Pro????
well woke up to 0 degree wind chill the last 2 days, BUT NO moisture, so all is good.. ;D

Geez Sanddune...what a heatwave...last couple of weeks I've been waking up to -15, -20 windchill. One morning we had -40. Gotta love Southeastern Colorado this time of year....I just wish the snow would melt...
Tell you what Josh.................... Keep it!! I dont want that nonsense here, BUT Avalanche may want some of it.. I think he said he liked winter weather... LOL..
