Everyone got a real kick out of this.

Kind of funny, though -- some ignorant person actually asked him "what does that prisoner outfit have to do with Silver Dollar City?"
Everyone else though, from employees to patrons, really liked it.
He kept saying "I work here. This is my house."
Then on Sunday when he didn't wear it, he told the guys at the Mine that "I don't work on Sundays."
That is the CUTEST thing I've ever seen!! :D
That looks like one proud prisoner :).
THATS AWSOME! :)
lol i don't work on sunday's that's funny and great outfit by the way!!! ;D
Now that's a hardcore SDC fan! As a former "prisoner" at the Flooded Mine ('80-'81) I must say he looks authentic! Glad he had fun on his trip.
that is a rockin outfit! super cute!
That...is...awesome!
GREAT!! fits right in!! LOL
Too cool!! :D
The guys at the train depot were having fun with him. They spotted him from a ways away. And...my son is such a ham and not shy at all...so he was yukking it up with them.
I bet they were!
I will also bet he was the hit of the day park wide!
So what's he in for??
;)

When asked what he wants to do when he grows up, that's what he says -- "Work at the Flooded Mine."
that is a good goal in life! who wouldnt be proud to say that they worked at the flooded mine! I know I would!!!
My goal in life is to be an entertainer at SDC! (Preferably Saloon Girl :))
AND what a fine saloon girl you would make!! :o :o
You can always practice at the 3,000 club room! ;)
I'm working on it!!
Tiffany: There is no reason in the world not to apply for a job at SDC. Don't be disappointed if you start out somewhere other than the saloon, anyone with a bright personality and a pinch of talent should give it a try. I started out as a busboy in a restaurant, transferred to a ride where I pretty much just loaded people in and out of boats, and then was later transferred by my bosses to a ride...an attraction...that allowed me to act and play a character. (Diving bell) It was a fun seven years, they were from my junior year in high school through the first half of college. I've always been able to carry a little bit of that ole SDC spirit with me in my life, no matter where I worked. If you get a job on the park, you'll find out that after you leave and go elsewhere, you will spread a little of that SDC spirit no matter where you go. SO GIVE IT A TRY! Good luck! ;D
I wanna have a physical therapy stand at SDC for the workers shouldd they need it........but somehow I dont think I would be too busy... :(
You know, my wife and I have seriously discussed moving back to that area when we retire and getting jobs at the City to supplement the ol' income. Sure, it would be work while we're supposed to be retired, but it beats all heck out of greeting at Wally World. . . . "Welcome to Walmart: Mouthwash, Aisle 10." "Welcome to Walmart; Deodorant, Aisle 7." (Thanks for the laughs, Irving!)

I noticed on SDC's website when they had auditions for OTC, but there was no possible way for me to make it there the day of auditions plus I would have to be available for Oct-Dec and I couldn't do that with school. I don't know if I would like working rides. Plus I still have another year and a half of college before I can transfer so SDC will probably have to wait til then. 2013. That seems so far away!!
One thing to follow up about anyone wanting to get at job at SDC: If you do get a job there, and you treat it like it's nothing special, then quit and find something else to do. One reason why I worked there is because when I was an 8 year old kid, an interactive experience I had with the Hatfield/McCoy actors was so special, so memorable, so fun, so exciting, that when my parents announced we were moving to Branson I immediately told them I was going to get a job at SDC. I tried each day I worked there to give people a fun, special and happy time...I tried to move people emotionally just like those Hatfield/McCoy actors did for me when I was a kid. If SDC is just another job to you...then you are working at the wrong place...keep this in mind SDC IS A SPECIAL PLACE if you work there, you are very lucky to be able to do so...each day should be special to you and you should try hard each day to positively touch and influence those guests you come into contact with. Remember, the company motto is MAKE MEMORIES WORTH REPEATING. :D
There is no place I'd rather be than SDC, so I don't think that would be a problem for me!
I've been a few times over the summer and I've seen some people who I guess were there as a summer job because I've only seen them once. Half of them looked like they hated their life and it put a damper on my day to see people not caring for the guests or even pretending to.
or maybe they were really really hot in their fancy duds......which I still havent figured out the mystery of how they stay cool in freakin hot summers! ???
I'm a little late this thread, but I thought the prisoner outfit was a riot! Good job on imagination. ;D
I go through enough PT that I'd take you up on it Missin! I am a former collegiate athlete with more than my share of aches and pains and random unexplainable injuries. SOme weird things are going on...but things always feel better when I am at SDC, must be some placebo effect with the Taffy!

Dont know about you rube!!, But in may case that is called "age sitting in"....And your right SDC takes all the pains away! ;D
yall I am serious. If I could work some kind of deal with the Hershend Company to have a PT area in the first aid part of the park, wow would I be a happy camper. Or maybe a PT office somewhere in the park. I could theme it up.
and I will give the SDCfan discount.
Maybe we could build an addition on the clubhouse for your new office work area? will have to check with robe on that one!,,, LOL
An addition to the 3K house will be a must for Missin' to come and rehab all our carpal tunnel from the site! We do have a welness policy ( think you have to with all of the food at the Park!) and it would include the neccessary PT/ OT needed to be able to successfully return to our duties at the park.
Im there for yall! I accept all SDCFans insurance which can be purchased thru me for the small fee of a funnel cake with blackberries. The plan is good forever. No restrictions. No blackout dates. :)
