Been doing some surfing through Flickr and thought I'd post links to a couple galleries that I liked.
The first galleries are from a guy who used to work at SDC; while the photos themselves aren't vintage, he adds some great notes on many of them that talk about SDC's past.

The next gallery is small, but has some good vintage photos:

Some more vintage photos, including one of Jim Owens' Float Trip:

If I find any more, I'll be sure to post them...

Fantastic stuff.
This picture has me confused though -> http://flickr.com/photos/brianwhitmarsh/165096433/in/set-72157594162709671/
Where/what was this?
That's the Greedy Brothers Shanty Town, down at Lake Silver. Here's a picture of me there:

Wow. Thanks for the links Joy. The first galleries offered great pictures of Jim Owen's Float Trip. I didn't even know you could see all those canals. I'm definitely going to look for them next time I go.
^Those are great pics! I didn't realize all of those canals are still there. Did he take most of those pics from the Wildfire queue? I think you can see the old launch and queue area from the line for the American Plunge. Is that right? Does anyone know?
Thanks for all the compliments on the Flickr photos that I posted over at my Flickr site. I have enjoyed reading all of the lively conversation here on the forum. I grew up at SDC...literally, having worked there for a number of years and I can say it makes me happy to see other people as fanatical about this place as I am.
To answer your question, yes I did walk into the extended queue at Wildfire to get the photos of the old Float Trip flume. I know I am in the minority here, but I miss that old attraction even having grown up with American Plunge.
