Regular Price = $8.99/lb.
Sale Price = $7.19/lb.
Considering a lot of their flavors are made by Sweet's Candy out of Salt Lake City, UT, and Sweets Salt Water Taffy in a 14oz. bag at Price Chopper here in Kansas City sells those bags for $2.00 on sale, I quit buying the stuff at the City except for Wildfire as I know it is made on site.
Imagine what SDC's cost is if Chopper can retail on sale for $2.00. Then to sell it everyday for $8.99?? The taffy is good....Not $8.99 good or $7.19 good.

I am with you on this, I will spend top Dollar for what SDC themselves craft but not for something brought in from UT.
I bought my last bag from the local chain in St. Louis as well. I am very choosey when it comes to what I will buy @ SDC. The only benefit of Taffy bought at the park is the option to purchase specific flavors. The SDC taffy is not the same shape as the typically recognized taffy. Taffy made at SDC is a long cylindrical shape.
you guys talked about sweet candy earlier this year, and when i check abouit ordering direct it adds up this way
Taffy 2.5 lbs - 11.00 4.40 lb
Shipping 12.50 5.00 lb
even if you orderd 7.5 lbs the average price is 5.73lb, so that is a savings, BUT you woould have to spend 45.00 to get a discount...
Not trying to make a point, just showing the numbers..
NO DOUBT it is GOOD taffy!!!!!!!!
I will buy some about once a year, flavors I want, and usually about a lb. or two to last through the winter. That's about it. Yes I am paying more, but when you are there, you are a captive audience. I see that markup as being a bit higher (not compared to the ready bags at stores, but to the online prices) but their mark-up is not nearly as high as what I see when I attend Six Flags StL.
So I guess even though the park does not officially open until 12 you still can go to all the stores?
I would say so, BUT i saw did see 3 or 4 "stores" not open today,,,
Dugans trading post,
the "store" by river blast,
couple of others..
