Thanks! I'm printing this off, so we'll be prepared for this weekend! ;D
Good catch!
This is definitely a don't miss show this fall. It's amazing what all you can do with logs, and timber. In fact, that's what Silver Dollar City is all about with their log, and axe logo.
Over the past couple of years, it seems that Silver Dollar City is trying to bring back some of the classics. The Lumberjacks Show is a great example of that. I can't wait to see it! ;D
should be great! I am planning our trip for next sunday now!
i see there is actually 3 different lumberjack events/areas.
the 3rd is on main street.
I missed it because it is under the "tribute to 911" on the schedule. ::) ::)
the log rolling/boom running is going to be freakin cold for them there lumberjacks. Poor guys. the things they do for our amusement!
Seeing that the outlook is for it to be a low of 46* this coming week...yeah i'd say that'll be a bit chilly, And this coming from an official member of the Lake St. Louis Polar Bear Club!
Those timber men are tough, with thick skin. Besides, the activities are taking place in the "heat" of the day between 10:00 - 3:30. ;)
We enjoyed the return of the Lumberjack's on Lake Silver on Sunday Sept. 11th. There was a Lumberjack & Lumberjill. The girl did a lot better than the guy (everyone was chearing her on too). There was a good crowd for the show. Many people stood where Shanty Town use to be, with a few others on the opposite side of the lake such as the exit to Lost River and the area where Splash Harbor use to be.
Side note: We did see the water shooting up (or erupting) from the center of Lake Silver
Thanks for sharing your experience DollarCityBoy!
Would you consider it a don't miss show this Fall? Was it entertaining enough to keep your interest? I can't wait to see them in action. :)
I will be there this sunday. looking forward to all 3 demostrations.
Has anybody see the birds in flight? is that a show worth watching?

I did not attend the Birds in Flight show. But I overheard some others on park saying it was amazing. Take it for what it's worth.

You're welcome!
And Yes, It was very entertaining, and would highly recommend making time to see it.
i saw the lumberjack shows this past weekend. wow! very entertaining and fun. hope sdc decides to have more events/shows like this in the future
That's really good to hear, and I agree that Silver Dollar City could definitely use more shows, and performances scattered all across the park. :)

You ever come down here to the lake and do the Polar Bear Plunge in February?
I joined in St Louis, but I would love to "renew" my membership in Table Rock, or better yet...start up an SDC chapter of the polar bear club! Man would that be a plaque I would be proud of! We could all go in wearing 19th century period correct swimming attire!

Sorry, I actually meant Lake of the Ozarks where I live. But I'm pretty sure they do it at Table Rock also.
