Hey we are going in our summer trip to Branson.we always eat at landrys seafood but I would like to find another great place to eat. Any ideas?
Charlie's Rib and Steak House
Shorty Smalls
Great portions and not very pricey
mexican food? La Hacienda, over by IMAX.
Grand country also has a "grand" buffet!!
Yeah, Grand Buffet, and the Mexican joint in downtown Hollister, too.
the mexican joint in hollister is a "sister", same company as the la hacienda on the west side of branson.
The name in hollister is also La hacienda, and yes there food is good also.
If you have a hankering for some pub food- Waxy O'Shea's Irish Pub on the landing is good.
White River Fish House at the landing.
i also like old chicago. But you better take your wallet, It adds up pretty wuickly in there... although i have never had bad service, or bad food.. and the beverages are always cold!!
McFarlands (IMAX)
Farmhouse Restaurant (Historic Downtown Branson)
Outback (76 Strip)
Up Town Cafe (close to Titanic)
Ruby Tuesday (2 Locations on 76)
I only go to Old Chicago for their drinks. I joined their Beer Club that has different incentives with different levels earned. I enjoy their "Flights" that offer several different smaller draught beers (like a sampler)for about the price of a regular beer.
My family went to The Great American Steak & Chicken House next to Tanger Outlet Mall on 76 and said it was great. If you are unfamiliar with it...there is a 50+ ft tall chicken at the door...you cannot miss the place!

We use to eat at Peppercorns all the time for Breakfast. It had a wonderful breakfast buffet. It was one of my Grandmothers favorite places to eat for Breakfast. She passed away in November. When we went to Branson in March, I was shocked to see the BIG red barn that replaced it. It made us very sentimental for the old Peppercorns with the pretty white wrap-around porch.
grand country breakfast buffet is AWESOME!!! and at a very reasonable price.
danna's bbq, famous dave's, florentina's
I second Famous Dave's on the Landing. The ribs are great, you can even buy them by the bone if you are looking to just try one... and the brisket was amazing. don't pass on the corn bread, it was by far the best I have ever had.
Don't forget Starvin Marvins for seafood buffet if you like seafood....pricy but good from what the guests say (I don't like seafood). Also, if you like steak try the Paradise Grill across the street from the hotel. (Your room key gets you a discount there 10% off). Best steak I have had and tried all the steak restaurants in Branson.
One of our favorite places to go eat is the Pizza World Buffet, next to Andy's Frozen Custard on the strip. The pizza's are very good and the dessert pizzas are delicious - especially the cholocolate chip pizza. It's economical for families or those watching their expenses. especially with the coupon you find in the coupon books. You get great value for the money.
Oh yeah! Starvin' Marvins! Gotta hit this one.
the pizza joint sounds good. may have to check it out..
while in Branson at at applebees. eliniatas and luigis. also la iguanas.

I third Famous Dave's! And trust me I know barbecue. ;D
Mountaingirl, I have eaten at the Applebee's in Branson before. Good service, although they are usually packed every time I go! :)
only time i eat at applebees is if i get in the mood for one of there Bourban Street Steaks!!!! MAN!! thats some good stuff.
We've eaten at the Famous Daves at the Landing......it doesn't compare to the original Famous Daves up here in Hayward, WI., but it is fairly good though. We also liked Starvin Marvins, but my hubby doesn't like seafood so he had a steak that was excellent. The Pizza Buffet was fair....I make homemade Pizza using a Pizza stone in my oven, so ours tastes better than most ordinary pizza places. I really like to cook, so we don't eat out much when we are home. I don't like to eat out and be disappointed with the food and still have to pay a lot for it.
hi there cheesehead.. How are you and the hubby.. weather is nasty hot here.. how is it there? TTYL...
I second Charlies Rib and Steak. Good food, good service, and nice price.
Texas Land and Cattle on the Landing is my splurge meal. Steaks melt in your mouth. Also some of the best service I have ever had at any restaurant. And excellent with the kids; even bringing their meals out just a bit ahead of the adults so we already had their cut up and ready before our steaks came out.
Cantina Larado. Its also on the landing. I don't have words for how good the mexican is.
We usually go to Mr Gs pizza too. I think the best thing on the menu is the Tony Orlando Salad.
Or course we often have breakfast at Cracker Barrell or IHOP. You know what you are getting there.
While it's not in Branson, it's just a few short miles up the road in Ozark...Lambert's is our favorite place to eat...Neat atmosphere, tons of food, and reasonable prices..
Hey Sanddune! It's been in the 90's and 80-90% humidity up here in WI. You can hear the corn grow......hubby is sweltering at work.....they only have AC in the offices and he's a maintenance mechanic out on the floor. We like Lamberts too!Always eat too much there.

Lambert's is always a hit! Nothing like a good roll tossing during dinner time. :D
If you decide to try Lambert's, be warned that they do not take credit cards. Who carries cash nowadays? lol We did stop on a later trip and it was very good.
If you ever pass through Sikeston, MO in southeast Missouri, stop by the ORIGINAL Lambert's Cafe. During my latter college years I lived there, and knew old man Lambert. He was a friend of my parents. We ate there all the time. Ole Norm threw me many a roll! The place that they call home today in Sikeston is not the original location, which they outgrew years ago. I can remember in the mid and late '80's standing in line to get in at Lambert's. It was then and is now at any of the locations, worth the wait. The entertainment factor and the meals...and those throwed rolls, make it worth your time.
junior, thats another great story..
I am a thinkin you should of put this on the "Did you know?" thread.
LOL
Good ole stories from the good ole days? I got a million of 'em! ;)
Junior, you still have to wait in line to get in Lambert's in Sikeston. My spouse and I went in May at 7:30, got number 106 in the call list and they were on 81 at the time. but it still is worth the wait.
!!!WOW!!! :o :o :o long waiting line for dinner..
The long wait is well worth it.
My family loves the place though I haven't been there as of yet.
I'm a little late to the party here, but I definitely agree with those who have already mentioned Famous Dave's, it is one of my favorites. Also, Mel's Hard Luck diner is great. They have very good food, and then all the waiters/waitresses are singers from shows around Branson, working part time in the diner. Every so often one will walk over to their karaoke type machine and start up a song to perform. Sometimes the other servers will join in and sing harmony. And while they do this, they don't stop waiting on you/interacting with you. It's just a purely fun environment to enjoy dinner in. Definitely recommend!
Pizza By The Chef - Branson West
Michaels Diner - Branson West. Beats SDC's breakfast buffet by a long shot, we always eat there before we go to the park. Just cant do buffet food, sorry.
Andy's Frozen Custard has their seasonal custard concretes-
Peach Pie-with fresh picked peaches
Key Lime Pie-with a whole piece of pie IN THE CONCRETE!
My new favorite find is Reed's Spring Picca Co. USA Today listed it as the best pizza in Mo..... And they are right. http://www.reedsspringpizzaco.com/ (http://www.reedsspringpizzaco.com/)
mmmm?? good pizza?? I'm in!
OK, aside from spending every waking hour at SDC that I can, does anyone else besides me go absolutely crazy trying to decide on a place to eat? The place has grown so much with so many great options, I just wish there were more eating options in the day and that my stomach could take it.
I feel like Branson is one gastronomic adventure in itself!
you know it is tough trying to decide where to eat..
although they changed couple of them this year, so i eliminated them from the list,,, example- jacks sandwhich shop..
You could easily spend a week in Branson, eat at a different restaurant at all three meals, and still not come close to sampling every restaurant there.
Best recommendation is to just try something new each visit. :)
good idea ozark,
Although I am old school,
i find good service, good food, decent atomsphere, I usually go back, repeatedly ;D
I have no tolerance for poor service. real pet peeve of mine... oh well ::)
