Quote'Gone with the Wind' museum in the works By Mindy Honey

"Gone with the Wind" fans will have plenty to see this summer during a visit to Branson.

Gone with the Wind Book and Film Museum is expected to open June 1 at 109 E. Main St.

"It will appeal to anybody who has read the book or seen the movie and fallen in love with it, and as far as I know, there are not too many who haven't fallen in love with it," said museum owner Novella Perrin.

She said the museum will have original costumes from the movies, as well as props and items sold at the time of the premier. She is planning a special section dedicated to the Scarlett O'Hara dolls.

"I've been blessed over the years to amass a lot of stuff and I'd love to share it," Perrin said.

Over the years, Perrin, who is from Warrensburg, said she has put together many museum exhibits, but never had a museum before.

Work is currently under way on the space, and Perrin said she is looking forward to the end result.

"I just found a good space and a wonderful building owner," she said.

I could quote it. I could rattle off the actors/ actresses. I could tell you the jist of the story...but I have never seen the full film (only clips). Something about the double VHS that sat on the shelf that intimidated me! Someday maybe!

I absolutely cannot wait to see this place next week!!  I'm probably the biggest GWTW fan around.  I have seen the movie so many times I couldn't possibly begin to put a number on it and have read the book at least a half dozen times.  I have been waiting nearly my whole life to get the chance to see something like this.  I can't wait!!!! ;D

I have 4-5 publicity stills from the movie that I picked up several years ago, just because it was a steal/ deal that I could not pass up. They are sitting here collecting dust...I'll scan them tomorrow and post the photos.

Has anyone had a chance to go through this museum yet?  We were by it this past weekend but didn't have time to go in.  Would appreciate any reviews or feedback on if it is worthy of a few hours.
