Just curious if anyone has taken a trip on the showboat this year, and how it was. They said new show, new menu, new decoration. So how does the boat look this year, and how was the food and the shows?
This is one of my "to do" items this year. So I am definitely curious as to what everyone thinks of the changes. ;D
We actually did the 4 oclock show.
new decor is great, mainly changed the stage area...
New show is pretty good, the comedian violin player is great....
food, well the beef and chicken are both real good, the green beans leave a little to be desired and I am NOT a sweet potatoe fan... Desert was excellent as always..And the selection of breads were vey good also..
Overall another great showboat ride,,
Please note that the noon meal and show is different from the 4 pm and evening cruises. Have heard some folks really like the evening with the aerialist/violist and new musical group but didn't care for the lunch show. And have heard some folks prefer lunch to the evening cruise.
Well, hopefully someone will chime in for each of the shows so that we will have a nice cross section of how each one does. :)
Nice quick review sanddunerider! I was wondering what the balance was between the comedic performances, and say the more serious singing, or dancing, or what have you.
bisuit is right about the different show times.. I will be doing the noon show soon i hope..
as far as the mix of comedy and dance....... it is all intermixed and you really dont notice which is what,.,,
Go for it ozark, you will like it!
Well I will be riding it in July. I booked the 8pm cruise. So hopefully it is good.
Good for you. You will love it.
Joely gets her SSI and we'll be going
We went on the 8:00 cruise this past Friday night. The food was pretty good and the boat looked nice. I'm undecided on the new show though. I thought it was just ok. The singers were good. The new lady played violin and piano and did some singing. She is very talented. However, during the show we attended she only did one song ("Stairway to Heaven") while climbing the ribbons. It was very impressive though and required great physical stamina and skill. I guess I just thought she would do more of that type of thing since they promote that heavily in their advertising. I guess I enjoyed the host/magician/comedian (Christopher James) the best. There was nothing really though that made me walk away saying "I have got to do that again". In fact, my wife and two daughters said they liked the old show featuring Todd Oliver better. I do enjoy the time out on the deck while the boat is cruising.
nice.. i have yet to do the 8 oclock show yet,.,, it is different than the 4 pm show that i have seen.. I think the main reason i go back is the 1/2 price we get in for the dinner and show~!
We are right there with you Sanddune...the half price deal is hard to beat...With my family and the half price deal with the SDC season passes, it's a pretty cheap thing to do in Branson compared to other things...
