Have any of you all ever been to the Treasure lake Resort in Branson? My grandparents had a membership from 1984 until they passed away. It seems strange not to be able to just walk in there like I could when i was a kid.
It seems Treasure Lake may have been among one of the first time share places in Branson. The Ramada Inn next to Roark Creek, now known as Roark Lodge, was converted to time share about the time Treasure Lake went in. Now, there are time share resorts all over the place. Somebody was pretty smart to sell the same room 52 times and guarantee it would be filled up the entire year. I wish I would of thought of that one first... ;)
They had a lot of cool things back then too, They had a stagecoach and horseback riding. two pools, disc golf, a fishing pond, activities at the lodge, playgrounds, etc and it was awesome. Unfortunately, most of that has gone by the wayside. My grandpartents paid > $4000 in 1984 for the membership, and their site shows a membership for $777.
yes, i think yearly memebership is like 800.oo or so, I have a class A motorhome and was thinking about leaving it in branson ans driving back and forth in a car.. but by the time you pay membership fees, usage fees and so on. I may as well get a room at eagles lodge!!!
We have a pop up and have toyed with the idea of buying a membership there also, but don't want to be tied down to always staying at the same place. What happened to the membership when they passed? From what I've heard you're actually buying a deed that's recorded at the county. Seems like they should have been able to pass that on.
i think you are correct larson... i am sure the membership is a deed.
My grandpa remarried and his wife got half of it, the other half now belongs to my aunt, the executor of his will, but it doesn't do her much good because she already has one.
Not trying to get to personal, but it seems like they could transfer or "sell" that to you if they didn't need it.
