BRANSON, Mo. —
Highway 165/265 across Table Rock Lake will close at 6 a.m. Tuesday for 14 days while repairs are made on the downstream embankment of the dam.
Repairs are necessary because recent heavy rains have caused surface "skin" slides of topsoil that covers the embankment. The dam is sound, but the slides must be repaired.
Officials at the Army Corps of Engineers Table Rock Project Office said they regret any inconvenience this may cause, and they ask for public cooperation until the work is complete. The officials ask travelers to plan alternate routes and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
The closure is being coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies.
guess i wont do the showboat in 2 weeks. Unless I drive all the way around. :(
Isn't this supposed to re-open tomorrow? I sure hope so because we plan on driving across it tomorrow night.

verified from branson.com dam will be open at 6:00 AM friday morning (tomorrow)..
Thanks SandDuneRider!
Well, that is in about 6 hours, and 30 minutes so we will see what happens! ;D
The signs about the detour were down on 5/20.
So was the road open?
The signs for the detour were up when I was there on 5/18. When I passed through on 5/20, the signs were down. I did not drive out to the dam to see if the road was open.
I checked out the local Branson radio station. The road across the dam is open.
