Ahhhh...that last video was tough to watch. Dad driving through the flooding water in the family vehicle, with the family! Well, at least it was NOT a case of "only the video survived."

I'd like to see a pic of the landslide at the dam if anyone has one. Haven't found any on any of the news stories. We were staying at the Wildernesst last weekend, and boy did it rain...and rain....and rain.

Of the 10 storm-related deaths in Arkansas the last two days, six of them were from flooding.
here is a good video, puits the landing into perspective:

here are some pics, just posted on facebook...the first 2 is the kimberling city bridge, the last one is the bridge at beaver creek!
appears to me the water is as deep now, as it got in 2008!
Here is a picture of the bridge in Beaver, Arkansas for comparison.

That poor old bridge at Beaver, Arkansas...everytime there is a big flood, it gets hit hard! State officials thought about tearing it out a few years ago but local residents protested...it is quite the landmark. It is located about 25 minutes away from my home. It is located between Gateway and Eureka Springs, AR Stop by and see the big ole town of Beaver, AR someday, but don't expect big shows and bright lights. It is a quiet little town located on the banks of the White River, plenty of fishing...and one campground.
thanks for the added picture, that really helps the rest of us put it into perspective,
We were there at the Landing on Sunday. It wasn't as bad as these videos, but it was getting bad already. It was pouring down rain, and I think there were maybe about two dozen people in the whole landing excluding workers. Not a very popular place to be on Easter Sunday apparently. But, the lake water was up over the sidewalk below Famous Dave's. Pretty crazy to see. We didn't hang around long, but I could tell if it kept raining it wasn't going to be pretty. Thought some people might need to commandeer one of those boats in front of Bass Pro...
I am seriously thinking about going down this weekend. I want to see tablerock/taneycomo at that level..
here is a long video, some very specific pics.

Interesting to see the work on the old Taneycomo Bridge. I've never seen the bridge so torn up. The decking completely gone in sections. Funny too that the new bridge is so much lower to the water! Not good in high water like pictured.
It does look all torn up, drove by there a couple of weeks ago.. And now the water look REAL close to the new bridge...
New Video.... Kimberling City Bridge

OK, this last video of Kimberling Bridge is even more scary than dad driving the family through the water...as the one filming is also driving...that's gotta be worse than using a cell phone while driving. People are pretty d---ed stupid.
Makes you think about driving doesnt it?

Scary? I agree...If you look closely, you can see that the windshield is cracked and the passenger side mirror is missing. Wonder what could've happened there.
Ha! ;)
must have met oncoming traffic that wasn't paying attention. ;)

Ok sundunerider....I was wrong. Another 1/4" of rain over the next few days my foot! We are in it again, pouring rain right after we talked. The Landing is open but mainly shops; Old Chicago doing the grill with hot dogs, sandwhiches, hamburgers, salads and the bar is open. Other restaurants same light menu or Health Dept will shut down. White River Restaurant along with the others that are on the water side may not open for awhile longer now. Rain supposed to subside on Tues, but showing again on the weekend. Branson is pretty much at a crawl, lots of cancellations due to weather which is understandable. The lakes are still open and fishing is great so I'm told! They are having a town meeting tomorrow to discuss the flooding issues and measures being taken. We will see what happens from that. :-\
ok eagle!,, good luck with all that!
Simple idea: Place a special collection receptacle at the entrance to the Flooded Mine to aid flood victims in the local area.
I was thinkin how flooded did the flooded mine get over the rain storm.......nerd I know. But great donation idea!
That IS a great idea to raise funds for the local people, But i dont think you will see it happen. >:(

What is the condition of the suspension bridge in Beaver, Arkansas after the flood waters subsided? Is it reopened, any damage?
Water still at high levels on Beaver Lake. Don't think there is a problem at Beaver Bridge. Come on down for a little vacation and find out yourself!
