Does anyone have an onride POV video of Buzzsaw Falls?!?!? I can\'t hardly remember how the ride was!
Wow, this was the olden days before I had a digital camera or a cell phone that could film. I'll keep my eyes open; it would be nice.
For the meantime here is a good website with several photos and lots of information about BuzzSaw Falls. Hope this can help fill the void in the meantime.

Copper, thanks for the link!
is it just me or was that ride a dud???? I just did not enjoy it one bit.
That thing was really " jacked Up". During the commercials they showed these kids haveing a great time but when you got there there was this large plexiglass windshield on the boat because when it left the station in literally dumped into the river section, sending water half way up the winshield and still yet soaked you imediatly for no reason,( you could absolutely tell this was design error) Then you went around a med sized s curve then up on tracks down a little hill an over to the lift. Once at the top you dropped down into a pool that didnt get you wet and back you were in the station. IT was a terrible design, I hope it didnt cost SDC much as it only lasted 2 years or so. That initial dump into the river was really unnecessary and not part of any fun they could have designed intentionally.
I am glad its gone and I think the old B.F train partially destroyed and embedded into the roof of the new ride is more than intentional, I think it sums up the cencensus opinion of this ride.
IT WAS TERRIBLE!!
Yes, it's been noted before on this site the ride had design flaws and broke down a lot. I guess that's why it is considered an "experiemental" ride. What developed out of it...the new ride, using elements of the old one...worked out pretty good, I guess.
Like my dad always said about that ride "I dont mind getting wet on a water ride, I just don't wanna get wet the SECOND I get on!"
His name is Buzz btw, so we always joked with him about that ride. We still have our souviner mug on the ride, glad we kept it.
WORST FIRST DROP EVER! my seat was filled with water as soon as we left the station as most others on my side were. For those that don't remember, or for those that never rode, picture lost river on the wettest possible "dip" into the water on your side of the boat...or picture sitting under the waterfall, or jumping in lake silver...yah thats how wet you were as soon as you were droppd into the water. It made for a chilly ride through the roller coaster portion, but it was alright. I did like the transition from water to rail....
It was poorly designed from the beginning. And the plexiglass "fix" for the problem just made it that much less enjoyable. A windshield on a roller coaster??? I don't think the idea was bad; the whole water-to-rail is one I'd like to see explored again sometime.
Yup, the whole water to rail thing would be good in a better design. After seeing the home made videos on this site of the mystery mine, I think that's a possibility for SDC. It's almost the same thing.
I was still young when this was around so I don't remember some things about the ride, such as getting wet as soon as leaving the station. This might be because I was a kid and I didn't mind those type of things. However, I remember the big elements of the ride; the water to rail portion (FUN), the roller coaster portion, the lift hill, and the drop. I enjoyed the ride for what it was at the time...I'm not sure how I'd feel about it if it was still around today. But it was fun for 7 year old kid.
My wife and oldest son loved the ride. I never rode it. I'm not a big fan of getting wet.
i enjoyed it, it was just very short.
here are some links to vids of new liquid coasters which are much better than buzzsaw falls! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA_vuFU5uyk&feature=fvst

A cross between flooded mine, american plunge, and thunderation! Nice videos, thanks.
I guess hubby and I were in the minority. ??? We always enjoyed Buzzsaw Falls and there were never any ride problems the many times we rode it.
It was okay for me; I remember the first time I rode it I was wearing tennis shoes.....everytime you got in the ride car stepped in at least 2 inches of water. After the first time, then I would put on my water sandels before I rode. Saved time/headache of wet socks. ;D
I was just not impressed with it. I guess that I expected more from the coaster portion , coming out of the water to the rail and making the slow roll to the lift hill, my first words were "what the heck" Love it now when you come around that curve to the lift hill.
I remember when my girl scout troop went to SDC when the buzzsaw was still there and ths man would take his kiddos on it right? well the kiddo got scared and at the top of the "giant" drop he would unstrap them and put them outside the ride. THus stopping the ride and the water being drained and us being trooped off. He did this twice. Tard. And if that man is on this fan blog, sorry. But you were tard-ish.
"TRAMS" I totally agree. I remember reading your previous post about that incident. The dude should have been evicted from the park and family services called to have his kids removed from his custody. The guy sounds like a complete, total looser.
What years was BF active? I know I rode it with my boys. I didn't care for the total soaking.
It lasted from 99-04
This is one of the best links with a bunch of photos, and a rundown of the ride.

On a partially unrelated side note....
This looked like one of two places to post this link...funny huh?

Thanks for all the info on Buzzsaw Falls. That ride fell into the zone of time when I didn't have a chance to visit the park, so I missed it.
didnt miss much Jr - it wasnt a bad ride, but just wasnt all that great either.
Strange...with all the time I spend on park, I never rode on Buzzsaw Falls. I haven't been on the Giant Swing or that spinning ride (Electro-something?) in the Grand Exposition area either, yet.
You didn't miss much...here is how you can re-enact the ride. get in line for powderkeg with 3-4 gallons of chilly Ozark Lake Water, immediately before boarding the ride, douse yourself with the contents of the gallon jugs until you have hardly a dry spot remaining, and then climb on the coaster.
I have yet to ride a thing in the GE area. I only venture up there once a year to replenish my photos for the WITC game!
Zephon - I really like the ElectroSpin. Its a hoot. We call it the spinning sombrero in my house. As for the Giant Swing- Eh. Its fun dont get me wrong. Just an up and down motion that will get your inlaws the motion sickness bug and cause them to go back to the cabin early cuz they dont feel so hot. How they didnt get it on the electro spin I have nooooooo Idea.
