I know this will open up a huge discussion of pros and cons. but I am hoping to share things to do in the evening/ rainy days.
A great Early Evening show is "Riders of the Circle B". It is an old western based dinner/show, costs about 35.00. starts betwwe 4:15 and ends at 7:00 sharp, so if you have another show to see you can make it.
They are on facebook also

more to come
Really, I've never seen a dislikable show in the region. I saw Pine Mountain Theater at Eureka Springs last summer, and it was alright. A couple of months later my wife and I were in Branson and saw Presleys, and was knocked out at how good they were.
I enjoyed Pierce Arrow as its a fast paced show.
I was not overly impressed with Shoji however, It seemed like a lot of Vegas glitz.
Pierce arrow is an excellent show, AND I didnot know it last year, but There afternoon show is different than there evening show! That is a little unusual?
And after you go to 1 of there shows you get a 10.00 discount on there next show within 5 days. I will be doing that once this year, Both show in a couple of days.
I have been to several shows in the last couple of years, and the only one I really did not like was the sunday nite show at grand country.? Not sure why, just did not like it. I wouldn't say dont go see it, because everybody has different tastes.
Liverpool Legends is a MUST if you are a Beatles fan. Incredible show. I hate it they are no longer at the Starlite but the Mansion is cool too.
Of the Beatles tribute shows, Liverpool Legends would probably be the only one I would see because George Harrison's sister, Louise is the one who runs the show. Louise was a big Beatles booster going back to the days when her brother first started having success. She appeared countless times at the Beatlefest celebrations staged in the USA over the years. She was also very good about talking to fans about George and the other three Beatles, and signing autographs for fans. I'd go to the show just to have a sliver of a chance that I'd get to meet her and shake her hand.
Hits of the 60's was a very enjoyable show.
Shake rattle and Roll also was very good.
Red, hot & Blue was not as enjoyable as the other 2.
I think if we had seen it first it would have been great! But it was not the quality ofthe other 2.
and of course that is if you prefer that kind of music/dance.
Yesterday I saw Strait Country at the IMAX.. Jim Glaspy plays the Guitar, banjo and Dobro. He is awsome.. Also Randy Plumber plays base. I miss the Plumber family.. Also Saw Hughs Brothers. They were great.
IF i have my names correct. randy plumber also plays sunday nite at grand country for the Ozark mountain jubilee. And yes he is very good.
At the jubilee he also sang a couple of songs.
While we are on the "grand country" topic. I f you are a repeat show visitor there they do have season passes for 114.00.. sounds high, But they have 9 or 10 different shows through out the year! We bought passes for this year and have seen 2 show already and ready for more.
As a pass holder you get 1 free buffet with 1 buffet purchase.. that aint bad either!

I visited from time to time with Randy Plummer over the years. He is a big Mickey Mouse fan, and when Branson opened a Disney store, he got a job there. Don't know if he is still there or not, but I know he worked with the store for years and years as his day job. He's worked at several music shows in the area through the years, too. He is the only Plummer left in Branson. His mom and dad sold out years ago as you know, and went back to their native southeast Missouri to semi-retire and run a ranch. They had opened a music show a few years ago over there, but don't know if they still run it. Type in Randy Plummer in your search engine and you will pop up Randy's website. You can read about him and purchase some CDs he has.
Found it! thanks junior. randy is the bass player at the jubilee on sunday afternoon and evening. good show.
I remember them saying he is the last of the family still entertaining full time.. talked to him at intermission. NIce guy!
dont do shows.. not our thing.
Is anybody here old enough to remember when the Shepherd of the Hills was performed in a tent along the lakefront in downtown Branson? How about the syncronized water ski shows that were held on Lake Taneycomo in downtown Branson? We're talkin' the 1950s and early to mid 60s now! I am NOT old enough to remember either...but I've spoken with some a few years older than me who do remember those. I do remember the Sammy Lane Pirate Cruise and the old Lake Queen excursion boats, though.
Junior, the question may not be are you old enough to remember?
BUT do you want to admit you old enough to remember???
LOL LOL
Good one! ;D
Thanks. I have my moments.
went to see the Haygoods last night. Great show. Haygoods have been in branson for 19 years perfroming and actually started in SDC as YOUNG kids. 7 brothers and 1 sister. oldest of the group is only 33 years old.
Great fast paced show, lots, special effects.
I for one will never go see the Haygoods again. When they played at the other theater they said it would be their last year in Branson and sold out almost every show. Then they used all of that money to purchase a theater in Branson and stayed. I will sopend my $ some place else.
There is a new show at God & Country Theater, Alabama Revival for those you enjoy the band Alabama, it is a "tribute"; supposed to be good so I'm told.....
I really enjoyed the Hank Williams Tribute at Little Opry Theater (Tim Hadler does a great job and tells the story of Hanks life throughout the show through Hank's eyes). Probably the most different aspect instead of just a straight tribute.
LIKE: Jim Stafford, Shoji Tabuchi, Mel Tillis, Yakov
DISLIKE: Country Tonight (is that even there anymore?), Legends Live
I have been to all of the grand country shows,
the sunday jubilee and the Ozark mountain Jubilee were a little less than average, I would not go see themk again.
However all the rest of the shows are good, with music and comedy mixed in. If a person was planning on seeing all of the shows, the grand country offers a season pass. In the christmas season the shows change a little and are worth seeing again.
If you want to go the traditional route, Presley's and Baldknobbers have lasted so long because they do a good job of entertaining folks.
In regards to Noah, the $35 price to celebrate the 35 years of Sight and Sound theaters is good through June.
I have a friend who plays the guitar in jukebox journey at the icon. It is a little theater but it was actually a really good show. They play 50's and 60's music.
Buck Trent was a good show when he played the old Hee Haw Theater back in 81-83. During that period I was the concessions manager at Hee Haw. I'm sure he's got be as good as ever. Plus the wife of our old Hee Haw fiddler (wayne massengale) is Buck's fiddler. Her name is Melody. Wayne works at Country Tonite as a fiddler.
We have seen in reverse order of favorites: Baldknobbers, SOTH, Comedy Jamboree @ Grand Country, Dixie Stampede, Jim Stafford, and Kirby Van Birch (I know not really a show). None of them were "bad" and I would go see all of them again. Jim Stafford has an outstanding 3d show that would give the one we saw at WDW a run for the money. One I really regret not getting to see was the Tall Timber Lumberjack show and now it appears to be gone.

Country Tonite is no more; it closed after last season. Wayne plays in the band for the shows at Grand Country Music Hall.

The one I was talking about was on 76 just west of SDC. It was an outdoor dinner and show with lumberjack activities, pretty sure sponsored by Stihl. Seems like last time I went by there the sign was still there, but it's been closed a year or two now. Here's all I can find about it now:

We found a great place to get tickets... All Access Branson. No hook here. Best prices and great service. We found them by accident, talking to another couple at a show we were sitting next to. We tried them and have used them ever since.
We will be doing the new Todd Oliver show tomorrow (monday). Will let you know how that goes.. I am little apprehensive. all access price is 36.00 each. cold sndwhich for lunch then a 1 1/2 hour show.. ? we will see. and let u know....
The todd oliver show? If you have seen his showboat belle show, DONT go. He is using all his old material nothing new.
Todd also plays the piano and guitar, fairly well I might add. he has put together a "band" as such. Unfortunately, they are not very good.
He also tried to do some stand up comedy. not very well though.
Oh yea the "cold" picnic lunch. hot dog, small bag chips, bottle of water!!!! YIPPEEE!!! WOW!! went all out here!!!
NOT impressed with the Todd Oliver Show!!
Grand Country!
Saw 3 of there shows! All were good, and at least 75% new.
New singers, drum player, and added a fiddle player.. Check them out for laughs, and some GOOD music!

Down home countryy. 10 in the morning, tuesday-wed-thursda
Check them out I Gaurantee you will like them!!!
Did the Riders @ circle B last nite.. 1st time this year..
Didn't think it could be done but the chuckwagon supper was better than last year, . if you go away hungry it is your own fault.
the "cowboy" show was great as always.
Thanks to michael horn, his family and all of the people that make this show happen!
tell dad we said hi. and hope to see him next time.
Is Louis from the Cajun Connection still play with the Circle B?
I owuld have to say no, last nite bill played the fiddle, earl on the guitar is from the baldknobbers and the rest of the group is family.
No Louis plays at SOTH now... And if you did not know or don't remember he was the Flying Fiddler at the Showboat.
Good job Okla!
Man! As a group.... WE have ALL the answers!!!!!!
LOL!
