Title: FLASHBACK: 1980 Season!
Post by: Junior on January 15, 2011, 06:01:16 PM
Let's go back in time to the 21st season of SDC! Tom Sawyer's Landing was new. Whitewater was under construction. Daily admission to the park was less than $10! As the new 1980 season began, an ad by SDC appeared in the local Branson newspaper announcing changes at the park for the year. Coke placed an ad in the local paper for season passes. SEE scanned ads, photos, and a part of the 1980 brochure at my Flickr site:

It was my first year of playing Junior Dugan at the diving bell full time. I was 17 years old, just graduating from high school at Branson this year. Ah, the memories! HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY! ;D

In 1980 the entire Herschend company consisted of SDC, MO, SDC, TN, (Dollywood) The campground and waterslide (Known today as the Wilderness) and Whitewater in Branson.

I will be clearing out my Flickr site in the next two weeks to make more room for additional postings in the 2011 season. So take another look at everyting because it will vanish soon. Thanks for your interest in the stuff I've posted in the last year. It has been fun sharing with everyone.
