SDC really needs to get a few web cams. I have found only one in Branson. It is on the Titanic web site. http://www.titanicbranson.com/titanic_webcam.php (http://www.titanicbranson.com/titanic_webcam.php) . On this one you can even take control of it and look up and down the strip. Any one know if there are more around the Branson area on in SDC?
A webcam for any of their coasters would be pretty sweet, like on Wildfire's observation deck or TnT's helix.
a webcam on the front of all 3 trains and in the sations of the roller coasters
If you go to the Branson Tracks website there are 3 or 4 different webcams you can watch. I think the web address is bransontracks.com and then click on webcams.
webcams at the city would be great!! of course they would have to be hidden otherwise we would have members screaming-----NOT IN MARY'S DAY!!!!! LOL..
here is a link to what I think is all the webcams in branson.....

I am sure it include the track cams as well, but with different names.
There used to be a "panaromic" camera view on SDC's website. A camera was posted at the top of the corkscrew that goes from near River Blast to the top near where Becca's Weaving is located now(at the bridge that the train passes under and there's a sign that says "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes). You could click on the icon and see a shot from that area but I don't think it was done in real time. Does anybody else remember that?
I think a city square camera would be great. You could get an idea as to how croded things were, get a view of the iconic buildings, see thetroupe performing....I would watch it to get my fix!
I'm glad I brought this forum back from 2008
Night vision cave guide tour cave cam!
Train cam.

So the idea was brought up in 2008, and now in 2011 there is still no such webcam? :-\
Either way, I love the idea! Plus, since most outdoor webcams are very small, concealing them would be a piece of cake. I like the Town Square idea the best, but any entrance area would be really cool.
Another great place to put one is the Train Station, or Echo Hollow Theater, or any other place where crowds channel through. :)
If they put one in I think it should be one with volume.. So we can hear whats going on on the square... Jut my thoughts.
We want a webcam! We want a webcam! LOL
They ought to have several. Main St., train station, a couple of the craftsmen...
yes several! I started to make a list the other day........... didnt know where to stop!! LOL
Now, now, boys. If you have too many web-cams, you eliminate the need for people to pay their money and come through those turnstiles. No shows or craft demos, please.
But a few would be nice...I could see one on top of the fire tower just west of the Gazebo (keep an eye on the Main Street area), one on top of the Playhouse overlooking the riverfront area, one on top of the Flooded Mine tower (watch the train come and go), one at the top of the Wildfire lift (see both big coasters from there), one on top of the Saloon overlooking that high traffic intersection, and maybe one on top of the Red Gold overlooking the Grand Exposition area.
Hey, the more webcams the better! With the exception of shows, and demonstrations, I bet webcams in heavy foot traffic areas would entice more people to come visit the park. This is especially true for folks who have never visited before, and want to see what all of the fuss is about.
Come on guys! Isn't anybody out there worried about big brother anymore :).
Not unless they rename the park Area 51. ;)
I have used the Titanic cam that allows a 360* view for the area from the sign on hwy 76. I loved using that one when I was having 76 withdrawl. I would like checking in on a camerathat could be viewed anytime. We could see the Christmas lights/ parade, the changed in the trees etc. I would be on it just about as much as SDCFans!
How bout a 360 camera from the top of Huck Finn's Hideaway. Could we actually see anything from there?
I keep thinking a view from outside Brown's Candy Factory would be great. You could see the funnel cakes, the outer edge of the square, the blacksmith shop, the jewelry store, the Horse bridge, the woodcarvers shop, the glassblowers shop...I would love that view

Bingo! There is no way a simple webcam would ever replace a visit to Silver Dollar City, but is sure would help fill that void in between trips. :D
At least one has to be on the bridge over the tracks (where they've put the planters to keep anyone from leaning over the railing).
I think they use to have some kinda camera there before

Yes, the SDC website had a panoramic camera view from that location. Wasn't a web cam done in real time, though.
Boy Howdy, I sure agree with this thread! It would be great to see SDC on a live cam whenever you wanted! It would be neat to see SDC install a few cams and you would be able to click different views. *sigh* A great solution to your "missing SDC" woes! :'( :D
That would be fun! If they had one on the square, then I could watch them install the Christmas Tree!!
dollar! thats a great idea. watch them do the change from different festivals on the main square
I would watch the square 24/7!
YEP!! i would have about a 30" monitor mounted on the wall, dedicated to that site....!!
Wouldn't it be great to watch the "street shows" on a webcam? It would be like having "SDC TV"!
oh man!! now i am just drooling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :P
It would be cool to watch a webcam that is live even during the off season, or on off days. I would love to see the behind the scenes activity when vehicles, and modern equipment hit the town square.
Ok! Can someone get sanddune a towel, please?! :o ;D
SDC TV....I LIKE IT! Being a able to tune in whenever you have the itch and take in as much as you want at any hour. It would be so serene and relaxing to see the city at night with everyone gone and the leaves swaying in the breeze and waters gently waving. Maybe seeing any wildlife that scampers through the park. Yes, it gggblrrbbbbbgrggbblurb.......
Ok...can someone get ME a towel, please?!
;D ;D
SDC TV has a nice ring to it. If that was a network they could put some of the old videos they used to sell on it
A webcam would give us our SDC fix, especially of the 5 story Christmas tree. My son was just saying earlier that he can't wait until Christmas time to go to SDC (we don't go until the week after Christmas). This way he could start watching in November.
Okay higher ups out there......do you hear this!? WE WANT SDC TV!! throw in a little bit of terrys tour guide and a little bit of real live feed from the park possibly some past shows that were awesome....
I bet if the PTB wanted to RFDTV would set them right up! wouldn't that be fun!
I googled "SDC webcam" and found this forum. I can't believe they still don't have one!!
It is a shame. Perhaps we should all write an e-mail to them, and highly recommend it. Maybe with a surge of interest they would consider it.
E-mail sent! ;D
Here is a quick link to e-mail Silver Dollar City for anyone else who is interested.
http://bransonsilverdollarcity.com/contactus/ (http://bransonsilverdollarcity.com/contactus/)
That's a good idea! I emailed them too!
Way to go Tiff! ;D
The more e-mails we all send, the better! Surprisingly enough, when I sent my e-mail earlier today, one of the weekend staff members responded back right away, and stated that they would forward my request to the appropriate department. So I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I didn't get anything back :(
I think they experimented with a Web cam...placing one in the SDC jail to watch the cell...but not much changed. The guy in the cell just slept through it all!

Haha!!!!
sent my email! Hope it will do some good!
Awesome Dewey!
That makes at least three of us who have sent them an email this week. The more interest they receive about the webcams the better. :)
I just checked and the webcams in branson still are not all working. Still 3 not working.
