2011 prices for the early birds during the Christmas Festival...
$72.00 plus tax = $77.38 for adults.
$62.00 plus tax = $66.63 for children.
This is a great deal, I visit the park 10-15 times per year on average :) If you keep (and remember to bring) your souvenir cup, even better deal.
where did you find this info. been watching and have not seen anything on the website yet??
I called the park and asked..
ok, thanks. thought i missed something.. Did they offer any info about the BAF"s?
The ticket office did not have the lists of the Bring a friends but they were told they would get that info next week.
OK> i will be there tomorrow, i will check in and ask them about it.. see if i can get any additional info. Thanks for the heads up.! ;D
Does anyone remember what the early-bird prices were last year?
seems like it was 70-72.00 each, the big difference was the early BAF were free admission, and after the 1st of the year the BAF's were 10.00. But i am prettyy sure the actual purchase did not vary more than a dollar or two.
I just looked and we bought them at the park in Nov of last year and they were 74 and some change with tax. So really not much of a price increase.
strange deal on this topic, I check at the little "hospitality "house on the way in. Was told they had NO info on 2011 yet.. said it would be released 11-6... on the way out this evening i checked at the booth where you update passes.... same info. NO ticket info today, will be released 11-6.. I then asked them about the "new" area?. was told that would be released 11-6....????? So dont know what to tell ya there!! ::)
Guess it helps to call the parks ticket office like I did.

I sure hope you are right, and that November 6th is the pivotal day. I am ready for an announcement to finally come through. The 2011 Project thread is getting a little rough. :P
Personally, I am going to try to purchase my tickets during the off season again for the cheaper rates.
with you on that ozark, i will do the internet thing, get the BAF's and there is usually a few freebies too ;D.. price is always 71-71.00.... So I am just standing by!!!!
I just found this on facebook:
Silver Dollar City MomsBlog: Silver Dollar City does not have a family pass. We do offer season passes which will go on sale November 1.
how sweet would a family pass be!! I would like that much!
Family Plans are nice, but what defines a "family?" Mom, pop, and one child, or two children, or three children? Does mom, and pop, and grandma, and grandpa qualify together for one family plan? Does an adult father visiting with his adult daughter qualify for a family plan?
I am all supportive of a family plan, however there would definitely be some logistics to solve for pricing since each family is different. :)
I agree. The bigger the family, the cheaper each pass becomes.
I think a family pass should be a flat rate for 2 adults and 2 kids... you can decide who the "adults" are. And any other kids would be like $20 extra.
The problems with this are:
1. 12 and over is an adult. What if you have all kids 12 an over? Or just 1 kid under 12 and 3 over 12? How would that work? This idea would ONLY work for families who have 2 adults and 2 or more children under the age of 12.
2. This would open the way for a "family" to be A lesbian and her lover and her 2 kids. SDC would not like that, and it would cause them to either say, "you're not a family" or allow something that they strongly disagree with. Not going to happen.
They could call it "group" season passes to eliminate moral objections. It would be a percentage off system. I.e. 10% off your 3rd 4th and 5th passes..that kinda deal
Also, who's to say that HFEC would disqualify non traditional families! Walmart corporation has family values (censored cds) yet someone can give their spouse sams club card to a gay lover.
I have a quick question for those of you who have made season pass purchases many times.
This was my families first year to do the season passes and we loved it! We decided to get them in March~and I know if we purchased sooner we could have gotten a better deal.
The question is, When is the better deal? Purchasing when they first go on sale? Nov 6 according to this thread, or Purchasing during the off season? Jan - Feb?
**This will be our first Christmas Season at SDC~we are so looking forward to it!!!**
Thanks~

last year. the ticket prices were about the same.. the diffference were the BAF. in nov and dec, BAF were free............After the 1st of the year, BAF were 10.00. that is the way i memeber it anyway..
Thanks so much, that's exactly what I was looking for!! Really would like those free BAFs .. ours this spring, I believe, had a very short time frame in which to use them...so they didn't get used..

the tickets go on sale Sat. and then usually the best price and BAF tickets are given till Jan 1st

I purchased my Season Passes off of the internet around March, or April and received the 70 something dollar ticket price, and four Bring a Friend Passes included at no additional charge. Perhaps, it depends on whatever the current rate, or special is.
ozark, thats right the BAF's are free with your season passes.. the differnece is or was.... last year the nov, dec, BAF your friends had free admission.....after the 1st of the year there was a 10.00 admission fee with the BAF's....
After the first of the year the dates on the bring a friends get more restricted.
Hmmmmm ??? that could be. I do know the ones i got after january did have date restrictions
Yeah, I pretty much threw away my bring a friend passes as soon as I got them since they are just for one day, and anyone I take with me to Silver Dollar City is going to spend more than one day at the park. ;)
They were restricted on when you could use them. There were four of them, and you could only use one per two, or three month intervals. Just wasn't enough of a perk for my circumstances.
true enough, but something we did do, was "upgrade" our daily pass...which was a BAF. upgrade was 40.00 + 10.00 BAF= 50.00 season pass! that is a fair price for a season pass. yes?

That's what we did last year. In November 2009 we upgraded our 2-day tickets to Season Passes for 2010. It was cheaper than buying full season passes, but we didn't get any BAF tickets.

The holiday weekends are always blocked. I see the prices are just like I said.
I did check with SDC and if you buy next years passes while at OTC this year, you will receive all of the specials/bonuses you get over the phone.
We purchased our season passes in November of last year and the price with tax was $72.01.
Alas, there is still no family pass, ;D. But you do save an additional $2.00 a pass if you buy four or more passes! Plus if you buy your passes on park by December 30, you get a 20% off coupon good for one purchase on park (or 30% off a homemade fruitcake). These coupons expire December 30, 2010. I didn't notice this coupon until AFTER I got home. But I'm planning on going back in a few weeks. Now if I can only remember to bring the coupon WITH me when I go back. They've got a lot of their 50th anniversary stuff on sale for 1/2 off in the HH and Ozark Marketplace. Also they have copies of the 50th anniversary picture book that was published by the Springfield News-Leader for sale in the HH (but no discount on these so far.)

Great info, but I'm pretty sure we didn't buy our passes at the park last year, and I used the 20% off coupon on our wise man for our nativity. In fact, we use the coupon every year for a nativity figure. It's good for the whole year. Unless the coupon you are talking about is in addition to the coupon that comes with the passes each year. We usually wait until December to buy our passes, so if we are here in Nov., we don't get them at the park. We just make sure to order them before Dec. 30.
hmmmm? stacey, i bought my tickets feb-march 2010 and i did not get the 20% off coupon, you are talking about?.. hmmm..
The coupon parson is talking about is a "special" for early buyers this year " I thought"///
20% good only until end of this year..
I havent seen anything about 20% for next year purchases?....

We bought our passes last year for this year--I'd say about Dec. 22, 2009. The 20% off coupon we received in 2009 with our passes (for the 2010 season) was good until Dec. 30, 2010. We always save the coupon to buy a "character" for our nativity. Now, we haven't bought passes this year yet for 2011, so I don't know if the coupon deal has changed. We will buy them before Dec. 30, though, because two of the passes we buy every year are Christmas presents for my parents.
The coupon I received for purchasing 2011 passes expires on December 30, 2010.
parson, that is what i read and understood on website... this year discount.. NOTHING about discount on purchase next year.

Well, that will be fantastic to know when I purchase my tickets on December 30, 2010. :P

That's a real bummer to know. My husband and I were just talking about how we've used the coupon every year to add to the nativity. Looks like we won't be getting 20% off next year. We've already bought one this year, so we won't be adding another. Dang.
i will be looking for end of the year specials when i am there next week..... Hmm? i sure would like one of johnson's knives.. 20% off... well maybe.
It has been a dream of mine to purchase one of his knives! He is a very talented, and very skilled craftsman no doubt about it. I just wish he made "economy" versions of his knives. :P
If allowed, that 20% from the early bird Season Passes sure would help though! :D
well it says : """" Give us your email address and SAVE! Get 20% off one merchandise purchase of $20 or more through December 30, 2010. """
knives run way over 100.00, so taht would count i think. Bad part is the knife i look at was 500.0!!!!
thats why I always wear horse blinders. that way I dont have to see any merchandise
horse blinders. great idea! where do i order them?
That is what I used my 20% for was for a knife it was too good of a discount to pass up because you know the knife prices will never go down.
jmc, still thinking about it.. I will be there next sunday to check it out!
