I'm a long time lurker, first time poster...I haven't heard anyone mention their memories of one of my favorite parts of SDC when I was a kid. They used to have a huge wooden maze/top game on the porch of the toy store (which is now the christmas store), it had maybe 10-12 wooden pegs shaped like bowling pins inside a labyrinth of small rooms each with a small opening. You wound up a wooden top and pulled the string to make it spin. The top would then bump into the walls until it made it's way through a door and into a room to knock over the wooden pins. I used to run through the treehouse, into the toy store and then play that game. I ran that circut so many times my parents would try to drag me away and then give up and walk off. I swear there were almost a few times I thought they had left me and I almost went looking for a staff member because I thought I was a "lost child." Amazing that I could be so entertained by something that didn't have a microchip and a color screen. If anyone else remembers this game, has pictures or knows what happened to it...I'd love to hear about it.
I do remember what you described in the toy shop. Don't know what happened to it after the toy shop was replaced. Funny how something so simple can stay locked in our minds, something enjoyable from our childhoods.
Ahhh.... the Carrom Skittles Game! I almost forgot about that.

I remember that fellow from the toy store postcard. (The big one, not the small one!) He was a pretty nice guy. Cannot remember his name...I do remember passing him on the street and he was always pleasant.
