HFEC co-founder Pete Herschend recently did an interview with HometownDailyNews.com in which he stated that though the property is still more or less on the company's mind, it is not "high on the radar screen" at the moment. A Mo-Dot spokesperson has reportedly stated that there are no plans to do this anytime soon due to recent state budget cuts.

As for the word on the street here at SDCFans, we've been saying not to look for anything to happen on the Celebration City site for some time now, and this news only confirms that it will be a long time until HFEC can do anything with the property. As of right now almost every ride in the park has been taken away with the exception of a few that can't be easily sold or may still end up in other HFEC parks.
