McHaffie's Homestead
« on: July 07, 2010, 12:30:05 AM »
In searching for information about the Bald Knobbers, I came across the Wikipedia article, which lists James K. Polk McHaffie as one of the original 12 or 13 members of the Anti-Horse Thief Association (which later became the Bald Knobbers).  Having not memorized the information at the homestead, did the McHaffie homestead belong to James' family, or is this just a coincidence?

Also, I've noticed before that Galba E. Branson was one of the originals, as well.  Is this a relation to Reuben Branson, for which the town is named?
