2010 Trip Reviews
« on: March 19, 2010, 03:33:34 PM »
Just starting this because I really liked it last year.  Being able to go to one spot and read about everyone's trip was nice.

So, since the first official trips have started...let us know how they went!

I know Fire in the Hole got a makeover, but specifically what changes have been made? Sorry, I’m just too eager to wait until May to find out in person. :D

Wow, that's awesome! Riding Fire in the Hole will be like finding an old friend again. I sure hope Silver Dollar City will breathe new life into the American Plunge too. Sure, new rides are great, but you cannot replace a classic. ;)

I hope to have my own trip report this May!

Hey Swoosh...  Don't forget the Spider web is gone...     I hated that thing anyway.

You know, I took my little niece on FITH for the first time once.  I wondered if anything would scare her; she was just tall enough to ride.  So, we rode through, and nothing bothered her at all, until we went by that stupid spider web...

I haven’t been to Silver Dollar City in a few years, and I completely forgot about that silly spider web! Oh well, it kind stuck out like a sore thumb anyway. :P

I was trying not to give away the gate by saying specific things, which is why I said the that the scene had been completely changed there (that being included).

I couldn't believe when they put that black light junk in the ride so many years ago.  The spider web was a tired attempt at making the ride more scary, but all it did was cheapen the experience.  Now I will do the dance of joy!

I'd love to see it go back to the old full route. Now that the rider count is down compared to the days when it was the only ride, it would be nice to spend a little more time inside.

^The rider count is far from being down.  They were dispatching trains every 30 secs Friday.  The queue was full and out into the midway.

^It is great that so many people still ride this ride and it is still so popular after all this time. It's a definite classic and a favorite.

The spider web never made any sense to me either.

One of the best little details we enjoyed on Saturday was taking my daughter to the pan-for-gems area on the Landing, next to RiverBlast.  It was the highlight of her trip, and to top it all off, the Citizen who gave us our bag for panning gave us change in gold dollars and told the story of how the City got it's name.  It made my whole day!

^i agree!!  my wife and i did the pan-for-gems things and it was a blast for some reason..im thinking of starting a new tradition.maybe filling up a mason jar and then try and peel the hucks hidden treasure thing off ans stick it on there
