Okay, I know what your talking about then. I like the smells of that area!

Another cool place to relax for me, is the Wildfire overlook. The screams of roller coaster riders relax me for some reason. But as I said earlier, not the screams of kids at Geyser Gulch.  ;D

Anyway, back onto the topic at hand, there's a nice place to sit and eat near ThuNderaTion, behind the food skillet stands. It's very wooded and has a nice view over the valley where the ampitheatre is, although there are usually plenty of people around.

I ate in that area last year. Yeah, it was really nice and peaceful in that area.

I also like to relax at the American Plunge splash zone. Of course if I'm not in the mood to get wet I back up. Anybody else like this spot?

Speaking of the American Plunge splash zone, I swear I remember there being an observation bridge over the splashdown that was close enough for people to get wet from the splash.... But the bridge that is there isn't remotely close enough to get wet from...

Did they change the bridge or something?

I've never really thought about relaxing by the splash zone, but then again, we don't usually spend much time in that area.

I do like to stand alongside Lost River and watch people go by. For me, one of the more relaxing eating experiences is sitting at the Riverside Ribhouse and watching people go by on the ride.

^Especially in the very back of that pavilion attached to the rib house, there's hardly ever anyone there, and it's a great place just to gorge yourself with BBQ in peace. Of course, now that the path to Wilson's farm is next to it, it's a little more exposed, but it's still nice, and the trees growing up through the roof are a nice touch.

^I think you can still eat up there, it's just closed off irregularly for cleaning and other things.

The waterfall is still there. You can't walk behind it anymore, but the waterfall is definitely still there.

I thought you went to SDC a lot Sdcfan. The path behind the waterfall used to be one of the top places in SDC to rest your feet. Not anymore though....

I think most of us here know a lot about the park. Most of us have been going for years. I've been going for 14 goin on 15 years.

They can turn the waterfall on and off?

Dumb question probably....

^Yeah, now that I think about it, I have seen the entire waterfall off before. In fact, don't they turn it off in the winter?

I've never seen it turned off before but it would make sense to turn it off in the winter. But doesn't that look weird??

Yeah, they turn the waterfall off for the Christmas season and string lights down it to look like a waterfall of Christmas lights.

I've seen it turned off other times, too, usually due to cold temperatures. I do believe it was off when I was there in April; that weekend was EXTREMELY cold.

But I was there last summer, and it was definitely on.
