Went to the Mizzou game today, and that was a lot of fun!  We dominated today 52-12, like I felt we should have against Bowling Green last weekend.  I'm also excited about the Papa John's promotion with my ticket stub, "Free Toppings for Touchdowns".  Valid tomorrow I can get one topping free for every Mizzou touchdown!  Just pay $8.99 for a large cheese pizza and get 7 toppings on it for no extra charge! :D

^If you went today then you got to see my band play in the mass band at half time.  We were on the SW 10 yd line near the last ladder in red.  We had a banner that said CADETS on it. :D

Such a fun (long) day.

^Yep, halftime was fun!  We weren't too high up off the field, but I brought my binoculars anyway.  So I definitely saw you guys!  The binoculars helped me read the banners! :)

A nice win for Mizzou over Nevada--the defense really played well and set up that explosive fourth quarter with a forced fumble at the 3 yard line when Nevada was trying to make it really, really tight.  Now that the non-con is over and Mizzou has again gone 4-0, it gets interesting.  After a bye week Gabbert and Mizzou will really be tested the next three weeks:  Thurs., Oct. 8 vs. Nebraska, Sat., Oct. 17 at OSU, and Sat., Oct. 24 vs. Texas.  Yesterday Gabbert passed for 414(!) yards.  After 4 games he's averaging 66% completion for over 290 yards with a total of 11 TD and 0 interceptions; that's a 168.6 QB rating!  Even after a bad rushing performance last night, he's still averaging nearly 3 yards a carry and has rushed for a total of 2 TD.  There's no doubt he's good, but we'll find out just how good he is in the coming weeks.

Today I'm most interested in seeing how Kansas fares against Southern Miss, Nebraska does against Louisiana-Lafayette, and Texas Tech does against Houston.

So far this season, I've been pleased with the way Gabbert has performed, impressive for a sophomore.  By the time he's a senior, he should really be fun to watch.  But...Mizzou's running game and their defense have not been very impressive, for the most part, against teams they really should dominate if they are to be considered a top tier team.  I think they will be able to compete in the North division, but against the big three of the South...unless they find some balance in the offense, I just don't see it.  Still....Go Mizzou!

As expected, Bradford will not start against Miami(Fl) tomorrow.  Oklahoma will come in to the hostile environment with Landry Jones at QB.  I bet Bradford comes in for one or two series in the first half, might play more if OU gets a sizable lead.  Stoops doesn't want a still-injured Bradford getting pummeled by Miami's blitzes.

Arkansas beat A&M, and OU lost to Miami.

My joy is complete.  ;D

Bradford said yesterday he hasn't ruled out surgery, it's still a possibility.  He'd like to try to start and play again before making a decision.  A decision on whether he will start against Baylor Saturday will not be made until Thursday.

A decision on whether or not he was an idiot for not going into the draft a year before graduation is still pending.

fixed.

Wow, that was a shocking turn of events.  Up 12-0 after three quarters, Gabbert, limping, throws 2 interceptions in the 4th quarter and we lose 27-12.  That was a big loss, no doubt about it, with Big 12 North title implications.  It doesn't get any easier from here, with OSU and Texas next.  With the weather and everything else, Gabbert and the Tigers came back down to earth last night. :-[

I'm just hoping it was a blessing in disguise.

I think we have a pretty good shot in Stillwater next weekend... 'specially since Dez will not be playing due to being ineligible.
