A nice win for Mizzou over Nevada--the defense really played well and set up that explosive fourth quarter with a forced fumble at the 3 yard line when Nevada was trying to make it really, really tight. Now that the non-con is over and Mizzou has again gone 4-0, it gets interesting. After a bye week Gabbert and Mizzou will really be tested the next three weeks: Thurs., Oct. 8 vs. Nebraska, Sat., Oct. 17 at OSU, and Sat., Oct. 24 vs. Texas. Yesterday Gabbert passed for 414(!) yards. After 4 games he's averaging 66% completion for over 290 yards with a total of 11 TD and 0 interceptions; that's a 168.6 QB rating! Even after a bad rushing performance last night, he's still averaging nearly 3 yards a carry and has rushed for a total of 2 TD. There's no doubt he's good, but we'll find out just how good he is in the coming weeks.
Today I'm most interested in seeing how Kansas fares against Southern Miss, Nebraska does against Louisiana-Lafayette, and Texas Tech does against Houston.
