Wow!  37-9 Mizzou!  So that's why Nebraska wanted Blaine Gabbert so badly. 8)

This is shaping up to be a good first week for the Big 12 as a whole, with Iowa State, Mizzou, OSU, and Baylor picking up wins so far.

Very impressive win for the Tigers.  We should head into the conference opener with Nebraska 5-0 pretty easily.  Still a little worried about Oct 17 in Stillwater and Oct 24 vs. Texas, but this season (to me) is looking like it could be a run to a third straight North title.

Yah...Mizzou looked real good today.  I was impressed with Gabbert.  He looked poised and more than ready to take over the reigns from Chase...who BTW was cut from the Skins today.  I believe he hooked up with the practice squad though.  I hope he eventually gets a chance in the NFL.

Chase who?  ;)
Just like two years ago it was Brad Smith who?

Big 12 looking strong today.  Zook may be able to recruit but the guy couldn't lead water down a drain.  I am not sure if Missouri looked that good or if Illinois looked that bad.
Bradford should have taken the money.  It looks like it could be a long fall in Norman.

If Bradford is out for the rest of the season, he might not even get drafted  :o

^It's a shoulder sprain.  He'll probably be out 3 to 4 weeks.  Next week vs. Idaho State is certainly winnable.  Tulsa will be a test, but if Bradford misses the game at Miami, OU may be in trouble.

Missouri SHOULD be ranked after this weekend's performance.
I think the preseason AP poll is a bunch of BS anyway. (hence how kU made it on there)

Top 25 Notes
Ohio State should slip some considering Navy almost beat them (and should have)
Iowa should slip because UNI gave them lessons in football (and should have beat Iowa)
UGA will drop due to their loss to OSU
OU will really drop due to their loss to BYU which will soar up the rankings
VT might slip some due to their loss to 'bama
Oregon should slip due to their loss to Boise (and should fall all the way off due to that player punching a Boise player)

Mizzou cracked the AP Top 25 this week, barely sneaking in at #25.  GO MIZZOU!!!!

Nice comeback for Mizzou after an initial scare.  And a big WHOOPS to OSU.

I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss anyday.
Mizzou played like Mizzou that second half.  No penalty and 21 unanswered points.
Basically MU's offense wore down BGSU's defense.  TOP in the 2nd half was decidedly Mizzou's

Well, our close call against Bowling Green didn't impress the AP voters, as we dropped out of the AP Top 25.  However, we did jump to 25 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.  Houston's win in Stillwater over Oklahoma State was an eye opener.  They play Texas Tech next, and Tech had better be ready!

I'll say it again:  Oklahoma will have a test when they play Tulsa next week, but if Bradford isn't back when they play at Miami (FL), OU will be in trouble.  Bradford has a third degree separated shoulder, which is serious enough for surgery to repair it.  He declined surgery, though.  When he comes back teams will be trying to re-injure that shoulder.  If that happens, he'll wish he'd opted for surgery.
