Football--It's Here!

I know it's only a preseason game, but it's great to see football back.  Who are you thinking is going to win it all this season?

If we're talking about NFL...Pittsburgh.

Mizzou had their Fan Appreciation Autograph Day today at Faurot Field -- it was nice to be back inside the stadium.  Sept 12th's opening home game can't get here soon enough.

What a great job by the punter...he really sold the handoff.  That is going to be the greatest highlight of that guys career.
Fan appreciation day at Faurot was great.  We always make an effort to the the signatures of all the young guys who may not have as much attention but my 3yo doesn't know the difference.  She told the back up QBs that she can throw the ball all the way across the yard.  And asked if Truman can be her best friend.  Can't wait for the season to get here.

CJ-I am a huge Coffman fan, seriously I love that guy.  He will be starting and I hope to see him make an impact.

Have you seen any HBO Hard Knocks.  Coffman is getting a ton of air time.

Also, the MU season tickets are supposed to be mailed out within the week.  Can't wait!!

Arch Rivalry game this afternoon--Mizzou vs. Illinois at the Dome.  My sentimental pick is Mizzou, but I think Illinois might finally pull off a victory.  A lot hinges on how Gabbert plays in his first start.  I also think Juice might run wild for the Illini.

As for Missouri's NFL teams, I think it's going to be a long year for both the Chiefs and Rams. :-[

Hogs did quite a number on Mo. State, but the thing that really made my day was seeing OU get beaten by BYU, in Norman!

Yeah, hi.  The game was in Arlington, TX at the new Dallas Cowboy's stadium -- not in Norman.

^It was practically a home game.  Certainly not close enough to Utah to be considered an advantage for BYU.

It was OU that gave up playing the game in Norman, so they could get a game in Dallas which is a HUGE recruiting area for OU, UT, and MIZZOU (Dallas is the 2nd largest chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Assoc.)

Well, the first week of the NFL season is over (except for the two games tonight).  It was an UGLY first week for both of Missouri's NFL teams; I don't think I need go into anymore detail than that. :-[
