Street performers were on the newest survey.  I can't tell you the last time I saw a street performer...performing.  It used to be awesome to stumble upon a street show - and they were hilarious - then they started publishing a schedule for performances and making them more about audience competitions - not nearly as much fun.

We came across one on the last trip.  My daughter thought they were hilarious. 
I wish that the Sheriff would interact with kids like he did when I was young.

I loved the impromptu street shows when I was a kid. I remember my dad setting up my sister (she was about 15), for one of the actors to come onto her. "She shore is purty, Maw... Kin ah marry her?" ;D

Reminds me of how my mom always wanted us to sit down by the bar at the saloon show so they would pick my dad to go up on stage. He probably got picked about half a dozen times or so.  ;D

I got picked by the Dillard's along with my sister (Stlphotogal on here) to go onstage and dance in Echo Hollow, however before our time to go on stage...it started raining, and we never made it up there!

To keep with the 60's theme of this thread however, I will post a photo of mine from October 1964 (this was the date on the image) of the "EXIT" from SDC. From what I can gather this would be looking down Valley Rd.

I love the saying, and wish it was still like that!

From the same batch as ^ here is one looking from the former entrance from what is now midtown (from next to the hotel) next to the Blacksmith Shop. Notice the area for parking!



Notice the same basic shape of the blacksmith shop in the present photo (I only had the collaged photo from this vantage point sorry!)

That's a great comparison.  Can't say I like seeing that car pulled up to the shed though.

(I'm changing the subject of this thread.  If jim isn't going to produce the video, it doesn't make much sense.)
