Has anyone ever died at SDC or any other Herschend park? I just wanted to know if anyone lost something on a coaster.

I haven't heard of any deaths. So, anyone know anything?

Pretty much the only way you can be killed or injured at a park is by doing something seriously stupid, though you'd be surprised how often that happens. Scaling fences, attempting to retrive hats, jumping out of rides, people go to great lengths to get themselves hurt at parks. Actual mechanical/safety violation deaths/injuries practically never happen in the US.

I have seen several people wheeled out on stretchers in the past 3-4 yrs. Most of them were farther along in age, but a few looked as if they had been fighting in the revolutionary war (harken images of the soldier w/ head bandaged and arm in sling). I have also read of the FITH tragedy, in 30 + yrs I would think that as Doc said, someone might have suffered some other demise. Think about the # of tour busses that blow through every year.....Many of the guests probably have pre-existing conditions, and SDC is not a flat walk in the park. Just my $ 0.02.

Falling off the stairs into the Cathedral room, getting caught in the undertow in the whirlpool of American Plunge, attempting to actually fly in one of Doc Harris' pre-Wildfire contraptions, getting between Cedric Benoit and a plate of frog legs, using the Wilson barn for a hoedown, falling in front of an electric cart, or bouncing one of those stinkin' basketballs while I'm trying to enjoy a leisurely walk.

I have heard of the Fire in the hole incident...

I also had a subsititue teacher that was on the walk way when it collapsed on the way to the lost river other ozarks.

He told us his story and It was an impressive story, he was pulled under water and a rock fell on top of his leg, he could not get himself free. He passed out, and a couple guys dove in and got him free and started cpr.

I've never heard about that, but I did have a substitute teacher that told us about working in the CIA...

I think that all CIA agents before going out into the field should have to be substitute teachers for at least one school year -- if that doesn't give you enough "field training" IDK what does.
