The Cave at Christmas
« on: November 19, 2008, 02:56:16 PM »
Is there ever anything special in the cave at Christmas?  I've never actually gone down there at Christmastime.

There used to be.  I remember once when I was little they had it decorated for Christmas for the tour; they even told a story about a guide who got locked down in the cave over Christmas.  They may have only done this for one year, I'm not sure.  I was very young, so it was probably close to twenty years ago.  My memories are vague.  Anyone have any more information about this?

They have "world's tallest christmas tree" down there...
I won't ruin it for you if you have never seen it for yourself though.  ;D

Swoosh your a little incorrect.. we're billing it as

"The Worlds Largest UNDERGOUND Christmas tree!"

lol  ;)

Also we do one other thing.. we put all the bats away so that the christmas tours are bat free... people who are afraid of bats have no reason to be afraid of Marvel during the winter tours.

I think I've actually seen "The World's Largest Christmas Tree," so I must have been down there at some point in the past during Christmas.

Well they're just animatronics anyway so it's not that hard to shut them off, right?  lol

Actually heard a guest say that to another guest one time.  ;D

Brainstorm time:

Doc, how 'bout you tie some tiny antlers on those bats and light up one of 'em's nose?  I'm thinking a red light - and you could call 'im Rudolf the red-nosed microchiroptera.

Just checking my use of the word recess or (recesses) I may have spelled it incorrectly but I believe I used it correctly...

Recess
3.    a receding part or space, as a bay or alcove in a room.

lol

I couldn't find it pluralized ... is pluralized a word? it's not spelled incorrectly.. lol  so i guess it is...
