Six Flags Coffin Challenge

For those that dare.....
https://www.sixflags.com/stlouis/special-events/other-events/fright-fest-30-hour-coffin-challenge

The prizes though - are they worth it?
•$300
(This is just $10/hr......so this isn't too much of a prize.)

•Two 2019 Gold Season Passes
(two passes at the current sale is $113.98)

•A Fright Fest Prize package including two VIP Haunted House passes
($69.98 + what's in Fright Fest prize package)

•A ticket for two to ride the Freak Train for Freaks Unleashed
(not sure the value of this prize)

•Their coffin! That's right - the handcrafted coffin is yours to keep!
I had read a description on one of the sites that these were "slightly used" coffins. If these are real coffins and not just props - this could be the true value prize. These items are not cheap - so depending on the quality, material, etc. This part of the prize could be worth thousands of dollars.

So are these prizes worth you spending 30 hours in a coffin in the park?

I'm desperate enough for money that I'd consider it. I can deal with having scheduled bathroom breaks, but, like, how are you expected to breathe?

Well, the response was so great (over 25,000 applications) Six Flags has now extended this promotion to all of their parks. Frontier City is also included....here is their link: https://www.frontiercity.com/frightfest/coffin-challenge/

This is a bit of an older post but I'm finally getting back to reading/participating in the forum. I came across this post and decided I'd give an update after the fact.

My cousin competed in the coffin challenge at Six Flags St. Louis. It wasn't much of a challenge lol

They got bathroom breaks hourly, food delivered to them and could bring phones, laptops and pretty much whatever they wanted to kill time as long as they stayed in the coffin. Did I mention, the only part of the body that was covered was from the shoulders down? They did have some challenges where the scare zone characters came to taunt them and some fake out challenges where they convinced you a tarantula was crawling on you while blindfolded, told you you were eating brains, dumb stuff like that. "Surprisingly" all the contestants completed the challenge.

But it was a great way to get people talking, I'll give them that.

I saw a photo somewhere, and it didn't look like real coffins, but more like a black box.  Were they real?

They were just wooden boxes, not like a fancy coffin you would buy from a funeral home.
