Yeah hopefully they keep the sign and put it somewhere. Its a work of art.
Miss the old signs. Generic computer ones on all the new stuff is so cheap and putrid.
Small wonder our lives have so little of God in them, when we come in touch with so little that God has made.

My dad did the artwork in that shop back in the 60's. Sad to see it go. Hope they saved some of it.

Guess we are blind -- walked up and down the corkscrew Thursday afternoon, Friday morning, and early Friday afternoon -- went to Sullivan's Mill and to Hannah's and never saw the fence or destruction going on....

Well in your defense the work is much farther west then where you were in Midtown.  In fact one could probably have walked down Hill Street and missed it.  Hence why Big Jacks went out of business in the first place.  It was hid

In case you do not follow the updates on Facebook.  Sanddunerider was able to provide some photos of the construction in Midtown.  While there are rumors out there about this being a variety of things, real speculation is that this will be an upgrade BOH facility as that was what Big Jacks was being used for after it closed as a restaurant.

Warning....It's a hard story to sit through....(99% of local TV reporting is hard for me to watch)....but at least they got an official park employee to explain and didn't just use online reviews for the whole report.

Hopefully the numbers to stand on will help.  The big problem is people not following simple instruction on which numbered gate to get in at the top.  Once there, they either do not care and just get in whatever line they want, or do not pay attention to what they are told.  It cause delays and cars to be sent out empty.

Great explanation from Lisa! Again this park has an impeccable safety record. All the right things are being done to ensure safe and efficient operations. And as with any new coaster during the first year or two of operations it will have some downtime to get the kinks and bugs worked out. Too bad that info wasn't really included in the article/video.

Nice pics and updates Swoosh. Still kinda baffled why they chose the summer season to do a major reconstruction project like that. Seems like it created a huge bottleneck there.

They didn't have a choice.  From what I have heard it was slated to be done this coming off season, but it decided it needed to be done a little sooner.

I don't mind the construction, but did they really have to wall the entire area off? Hopefully they can reconfigure that soon once the walls go up. I didn't realize how many times I usually take that route to cut through the park until they closed it off.

I wonder if the new building will have any gimmicks to hold lights... Should be a nice new facade anyway.
