National Crafts Festival poster

I found this great poster at an estate sale. It was still tacked to the wall in a bedroom. I was so excited!
I am wondering if anyone has an idea of about what year it might be from?

You rescued it. So is that the hammer-and-anvil that was replaced by the ax-and-log?

I am guessing so. I was trying to determine when precisely the ax and log came into play. I was thinkng this was 70s, but I haven't seen anything similar to it before.

It appears from the style of the type it likely is from the period of 1975 to 1985. I have never seen a poster like that, but again the style and layout appears to be from the period mentioned. Great find!

If we go by how the "National Crafts Festival" ran from a Saturday to a Sunday in 1994 (Sept 17 to Oct 23) (according to:
https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=191&dat=19830823&id=RqcwAAAAIBAJ&sjid=u0QDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6438,4803032&hl=en
), and assume that it was always from a Saturday to a Sunday, then between the years Junior gave (1975-1985), there are two years it could be from: 1975 and 1980, in which Sept 20 was a Saturday and Oct 12 was a Sunday.

Well, I would say from your research the year is 1980. I would have to dig through my files in the 1980 folder before I could say for sure. But, your reasearch is very accurate from my thinking...memory.

According to my 1980 brochure, the festival that year was held from September 13- October 12th. The dates match up for the 1975 brochure, but that year it was called the Festival of Craftsmen. I am going to keep looking!
