Shepherd of the Hills Shooting gallery
« on: May 07, 2015, 11:55:41 AM »
Just spotted this post about new shootin' gallery for this summer at shepherd of the hill constructed by the guys of the show Redwood Kings. They make some highly themed state of the art galleries, looking forward to checking this out. SDC should have these guys do a reboot of huck finn"s hideaway

Sounds really cool. Makes you wonder why SDC would not consider something like this in the midtown area. I bet it would get a lot more customer involvement than some of the carney games they have installed.

They probably don't think about it because of the Flooded Mine is really a large ride through shooting gallery.....and the PTB probably figure they have that covered.

But I'd still pay to play if SDC had one that's done as well as the one in the video.

Looks like that had been on the drawing board for some time considering the artworks '09 copywrite.

There is a shooting gallery at Red Gold already, though not by Redwood Kings.

Additionally, Redwood Kings did the shooting gallery in Branson Landing and did some of the theming elements for Riverblast.

Daniels Woodland is THE BEST. And yeah, they built the treehouse structure near Riverblast:

At least, that's what I remember from the link someone had provided in an old thread; I went to that link again today, but they've restructured their website...

Junior, too!

I watched the woodland Daniels video posted above...so how about a total overhaul of Huck Finn's Hideaway using this firm? A steel framework covered in wood, lower to the ground, and a handicap ramp to make the revamped structure meet ADA requirements. Then fill the new structure with some of the fun stuff in the video. Whadddda ya think?

I am so SO down with Daniels Woodland doing a refurb of Huck's Hideaway! I mean, it's fun to take pictures of a classic, but it's just sitting there, rotting away. DW would be an EXCELLENT company to do an all-new treehouse!

It's just not worth the price tag, especially considering it all has to be ADA approved.

wait... shooting gallery? At SOTH?

Is nothing sacred? The tower and ziplines were bad enough, but c'mon...

^I mean, isn't SOTH struggling to stay open? I agree it's kind of tacky, and it wouldn't be my first choice on how to re-energize the place, but at least they've put some good effort into it.

I think the one at SDC is pretty tacky too, but at least it's off in a corner and you can forget it's there. Just like the games, they've got to be tucked away appropriately, and a little more effort to keep them looking good and unique goes a long way.

I went through some of the Cedar Fair parks last week, and the games and shooting galleries were just unbearably tacky. Like the whole park was nothing more than an annoyance to walk through as you go from ride to ride. But that's probably a discussion for another thread....

I am surprised at the expense factor also, they say SOTH is struggling financially, But yet something like this?

Branson Tri-Lakes has an article about the new shooting gallery:

There is also a gun show at SOTH this weekend.
