Old Play Area
« on: January 30, 2015, 03:31:47 PM »
When I was a little kid, in probably about the early to mid nineties, I remember playing on a play area that kind of jutted over the water. Does anyone else remember this area? I've been trying to find pictures, but I can't seem to find them.

i think Geyser Gulch/Splash Harbor debuted about 1997.  I can't think of another play area near the water during the 90s.

There was one prior to the Tom and Huck area, as well.  I don't remember it at all, since even as a child I understood that we did not pay for tickets in order to climb ladders and slide on slides.  I believe it was near the entrance to Lost River.

I just discovered what it was.  It was Shanty Town.

Yup, Shanty Town! I remember playing there on my first ever trip to SDC, back in '94 (I was nine).
