I just can't imagine what it will all look like when finished.  After all this time, even the parking lot is changing.  And filling in that big valley seems like a daunting task.  I hope it doesn't settle after it's paved.

i'm sure after all the dirt is in that they'll give it time to settle before beginning to pave it...would be costly otherwise.

Here's an interesting section from the Mom's Blog FAQ:
Quote
Q: What is the construction on Indian Point Road, and when will the project be completed?
A: Much needed road improvements are being made! By midsummer, we'll have a brand new entrance to Silver Dollar City - 2 lanes of incoming traffic devoted solely to our guests, along with two lanes of outgoing traffic when folks are ready to leave. Early this fall comes a brand new parking lot that can accommodate up to 1,000 extra cars. Guests will be parked in a jiffy and on the way to a great day faster than ever before.

Clearly they need to update their answer. :)

There's an article from today's Branson Daily News about the Road Project.  Weather permitting, it will be done before the end of August.  They talk about how it's a "weather dependent" project and a harsh winter and unusually wet spring and summer have really delayed the work.  They are about 85% done right now.  You can read the full article here:

It sure doesn't look or feel that finished.  They are about to put the signage over the road though to make sure we get in the correct, dedicated Silver Dollar City lanes.  These went up this week.

Does anyone know why the current lots are not listed alphabetically at the waiting area, and why "JD" and not just another letter?

Its a mess.   We ended up parking on a gravel lot made from what was left of one of the original lots.  There are gantries above the road but they don't have signs on them.

These are from last week, but it's the most current stuff on the web right now.

Also, there's a shot in this gallery of the new road with the signs going up -> http://www.sdcfans.com/gallery.php?u=23

Okay so more seriously... it depends on where you exit the park... there are two lanes of traffic out of the park now 3 lanes into it... 1 takes you to indian point.. the other two to the parking lots.

So leaving is different... but again that depends on where you exit....
leaving from A or C or Preferred you go Right instead of Left.... swing down under the bridge that takes the indian point traffic home and it slingshots you to the new section of road built in the old parking lots G and F.
