Is that the spot where the walk way turns right then goes down the steps to the loading station currently?

This guy is standing about midway where you watch the plunge from the platform today, and the mill which was the entrance.   I have another old picture from the internet that shows the entrance to the old Float Trip.   The entrance is right behind the man sitting down.  Sorry about the quality of the picture,  but the answer to your question is no.  The loading today is on the other side of the mill in these pictures.

So in other words, this guy and the entrance to the old ride is basically the exit for the current ride

The entrance to the old Float Trip is sealed.....you would go directly into the mill.  Today when you exit, you walk behind the mill along the trail and up on the platform to exit or watch boats go under you.  So yes, today you could pretty much touch people entering the old Float Trip as you exit today.

You know where the water wheel is at the AP.  That's the same building, I think they used to have water sluces for that water wheel but I dont think any more.

I believe that water sluce is still there turning that wheel unless they have took it out recently.  Just not everyday it's working.

Here is a slide/picture from 1977 of an old popcorn wagon on Main Street.  It looks like the Shot Tower is just to the left, and the Gazebo is just to the right in this picture.

Here is a slide/picture from 1977 looking down Hugo's Hill Street toward the Lumbercamp.  At least this is what it looks like to me.   I know there is not much to see here, but even a small glimpse into the past at SDC is interesting.

I'm pretty sure they still use this cart? I noticed it on my last visit and wondered where it came from since it kind of looked custom made.

I think your right on this because there are still a few that I know of still in use at the city.  There are 2 on Main Street.  One faces Molly's Mill and the other faces the Gazebo.   Here is a picture of the one facing the Gazebo, which still looks pretty much like the one in 1977.

Yeah!  And those modern prices are pretty annoying too  :)

In 1977 a small and large popcorn was 35 and 50 cents.   Today a small is $3.69 and large is $3.99.
Also in 1977 drinks were 40 and 50 cents.  Today a small is $3.29 and a large is $3.99.  Today a Dasani water is $2.39.  Can you imagine trying to sell water in 1977....someone would really be hung on Main Street.

Hate to burst the bubble but I'm pretty sure that there is a company that makes them from outside.  Witness the following popcorn/ drink carts at

Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios: https://www.deviantart.com/wdwparksgal-stock/art/Popcorn-Cart-Disney-Studios-98973433

And part way down this page, one at California's Great America park:
http://cpfoodblog.com/2017-californias-great-america-winterfest-food-guide/

I also have distinct memories of these from Disneyland as well.

So I'm pretty sure some company has specialized in building them for various theme and amusement parks out there.
This is a stick up!  Get it? Stick.... Nevermind, it's a train robbery.  I want everyone to get your hands up and act scared.

I think about that everytime I see somebody with bottles of water.. amazes me.. AND most of the "fresh" water actaully has additives in it... Nothing natural about it.. ::)

Most bottled water is just municipal tap water pulled off public supply and ran through a RO system. Nothing special about it at all. Just get a refillable bottle and turn on a tap.

So does that electric Coke box in front, but it's no more incorrect than the soda fountain in the 1977 picture.

Any help on this slide/picture from 1977 is appreciated.  When I first looked at it I had no idea what I was looking at.  Then I started pieceing it together, and think it was took next to the tree house with their back to Big Jack's sandwich shop.   Looks like they took it looking at the Saloon with Fire-In-The-Hole in the background.   It seems like you should be able to see the train tracks, but maybe they are just out of sight to the right.   I believe this would have been about the first year that the Deep Woods would have been open, and The Diving Bell would have opened in 1977 also.
