I couldn't care if it were weeds and Virginia creeper, seems like when wildfire was added it was decided stripped hillsides were acceptable.  Our latest example being TT valley that is an abomination to the natural beauty of the Ozarks.  I miss the green lushness of the old mill wheel pic, its a place I desire to explore, unlike the bald ground.   I hope they do something with that valley and lay off the weed eating.  I will tell you if we threw a few packs of Morning glorys off that bridge the valley would be in bloom for years to come.  Once morning glorys take hold you can't get them gone!

Yeah I was hoping when they did all that clearing for TT that it was gonna be for some extensive theming elements and landscaping along with the track. Instead all we got was a few leftover trees and retaining walls. Which if I were to poke a negative on TT it would be that it feels a bit like a parking lot coaster due to to that. WF is kinda in the same category though it looks better now that stuff finally rooted itself and grew up in that rocky clay dirt surrounding it but it took a decade to do so on its own.

Oh!  Thats a great idea...  An assortment of wild flowers maybe?

At the very least, they should have mulches it up. But, yeah, they could have done much better with pocket of plants that would never in order with the rides. I hate seeing basic chainlink fence as well knowing that it comes coated in browns and greens.

Call me crazy but I don't remember the second floor to the mill/mine.  Is this an office area now?

As far as I know this is still open and you still can go upstairs and eat.  At least it was the last time I ask about it. They only open this area up once in a while.....I presume when it is filled downstairs in Mollly's Mill Restaurant.  I have been told if you ask to eat upstairs they will accommodate you.  That probably depends upon who you ask and what mood they are in  :)

Here is a slide/picture from 1961 of the swinging bridge and a picture of the view today.   This is how you could come into the city back then.  In this picture your back would be to Christmas Hollow, and parking would be where The Flooded Mine is today.

Here is a couple of slide/pictures from 1961 of Old Matt's Cabin.  Made famous by the story of The Shepherd Of The Hills book.

Here is another slide/picture from 1970 of the holdup on the train ride.   Notice how the hillbilly look is really in style at this time.

Wow what a difference in outfits for both the conductor and the robber.

Terrible looking conductor outfit if you ask me, with the plaid.  Only way to really know he's a conductor is the hat.  I like when they went to the black vest and solid white or blue dress shirt.

the robber at least looks about right.  hehe  Love the red vest he's got over the bibs.
This is a stick up!  Get it? Stick.... Nevermind, it's a train robbery.  I want everyone to get your hands up and act scared.
