Dollywood's Pete Owens was a guest this week on "In the Loop" and discussed the delay of Adventure Mountain. He said the cost of the project rose from $5 million to $7 million (an increase of 40%!) in just 60 days due to the rising cost of raw materials. He also mentioned that the $7 million version they were considering was scaled back from the original $5 million design. That's scary! No wonder HFE is delaying the projects for SDC and Dollywood. I'm sure the situation was very similar for SDC's RiverBlast ride. He did mention that Dollywood is moving ahead with the project to link the Dollywood and Splash Country parking lots.
These projects are definitely more feasible with the cost split between two fiscal years.
