VERRUCKT - Schlitterbahn Kansas City 2013
« on: May 24, 2013, 08:58:02 PM »
I'm not sure if you have been following this or not, but VERRUCK will be the tallest and fastest waterslide in the world when completed. The only stats that they will give out is that it will be 10% taller than Insano (currently the tallest slide in the world) when completed.

Here is the first construction update for the ride
http://midwestinfoguide.com/schlitterbahn/v/05.24/

We currently have footers and slide pieces on site.
They "claim" that it will be open by early July. It has been testing in New Braunfuls at the home office most of the winter. In mock-up size and full portions as well.

Tower sections 3 & 4 have been added (the main support tower is now at its full height) -- it is MASSIVE (yes, that's what she said)

I happened to drive past there this afternoon and it is just amazing how tall this slide is going to be.  Personally, I will never go on it because I'm afraid of heights, but it will be a great addition to the park when finished.

YIKES! The workers on the staircase going up the tower are all wearing safety jackets! I'm staying on the ground and will watch the body parts shoot out the end of the slide! (Ha!) Good report and good pictures as usual, Swoosh. Thanks very much.

The slide is almost to the top. You can see the top structure underway on the ground. Was told and maybe swoosh can confirm but the rafts will be very heavy like near 30lb heavy. Waits on all the slides over 40 minutes today with the water coaster over an hour for a large part. It was 45 minutes at 6.

I heard the climb up to the top was so high, people have been getting sideswiped by birds! I heard a low flying airplane almost clipped the hard hat from a construction worker! They were going have an elevator to the top, but the blue prints indicated the sudden rise up would have caused the air pressure to change too quickly, and most going up in it would have experienced nose bleed! (OK, I'm just joking with all of that... ;)) I think I'll stay on the ground and watch the bodies fly off the top of it!
