New 2012 Season
« on: January 02, 2012, 10:15:25 AM »
So, what are you most excited about for the upcoming 2012 season?  For me it's "The Pinkerton Man" western stunt show during the return of the Salute to the Great American Cowboy during the Harvest Fest.  Of cousre, I'm biased to anything Old West so that was a no-brainer for me.

2012 should be my first trip back to the city since 2010.  It will be our first trip with our son and a nice chance to get together with my whole family as well as some out of town friends.  We are also trying to convince friends of ours who have never been to come along with all of us and to bring their family for the first time.  Really looking forward to it!  I sure hope SDC can live up to all the plans we are making...it always has in the past.  Not really looking forward to anything in particular, just looking forward to getting back in the city with friends and family!

2012 is my first trip without my mother accompanying us.  We have been coming for the past 12 years together since my father passed.  However, last year she fell and broke her hip and therefore, her health has changed greatly.  I have missed SDC and look forward to coming back this year.

MARCH 15, 2012 is way too far away!!!!

I'm gonna say I can't wait for GAC Nights in Echo Hollow. I'm not lying when I say I keep having dreams about it. Weird? I know, but what could be better than cool summer nights in the Ozark Mountains with good music?

But the main thing I can't wait for is just SDC in general! I'm already starting to miss the sounds and smells and overall feel of everything.

Just waiting for that initial feeling of excitement as I hit the turnstile! Coffee and bread pudding at Delilah's, the smells from Wagon Works, and finding a spot on the bench to listen to Danny Eakin and the Pickers.  Bliss!

P.S...and the whooshing of roller coasters in the background, the splash from American Plunge, asphalt, the color green, the smell of pork rinds, and well,...everything else!

I'm hoping for a 'new' show too, cuz I saw the old one atleast 25 times in the past 2 years.

tiff, I'm with you..  I have seen the "old" show so many times. I kind of quit going unless we had somebody with that wanted to see it,  couple of times we watched the 1st hour just for something to do.

Everytime I saw the show after it started getting old, I would pretty much just be taking pictures and videos because I didn't have to focus on the show anymore, so I could let myself get distracted by my camera.
