If Silver Dollar City Were Relocated...
« on: March 11, 2008, 08:06:48 PM »
WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE IN ANOTHER STATE?

In Texas, they would have a drop tower that looks like an oil well.  Water "shoots" the platforms up and down when the workers "strike a gusher".  Name of the park:  Black Gold City.

In Arkansas, the park would focus on a popular comic strip.  Name of the park:  Dogpatch USA.  (Oops.  Done that.)  BTW, see http://undergroundozarks.com/gallery/dogpatch for shots of that defunct park (Kinda spooky.).

In Colorado, we would have to see John Stetson making his hats, and a feature ride would be the Pike's Peak Coaster.  Name of the park:  Freshly Minted Coins City (Only Denver-minted coins would be given in change.

In Tennessee, a popular country music icon could purchase the park and rename it Dollywood.

In Nevada, the theme would pretty much stay the same, since Nevada's mostly known for its mining (outside of Vegas, of course). Not sure what kind of name it'd have. Maybe Comstock City?

If it was in Oregon, I think it would be focused around the Oregon Trail.  Probably a trading fort of sorts with stuff around it.  Not enough for me yet but I could see it (care to add to my thinking on this?).

Actually, I bet if it were in Kansas City or Independence it also would have been themed around the Santa Fe-California-Oregon Trail, since Independence was one of the jumping off points (if you've ever played Oregon Trail II, you can choose Indep as a place to start). I bet our current Santa-Cali-Gon Days festival would have been held inside the park instead of taking up all of the downtown Square.

If it were in Cornwall England it would be called Silver City! and would be located in
Spirit of the West - Wild West American Theme Park!
